Chapter 1
Inside the Maybach, Sienna Moretti’s cheeks were flushed red.
"Stop. Not...Not here…"
Her slender waist was pinned firmly beneath Nikolai Lennox’s large hand as he deliberately brushed against her skin, teasing her with a lazy smirk.
"No one outside can see us. What are you so shy about? No one would ever guess that the most proper and well-behaved young lady in high society could become this reckless inside her fiancé’s car."
Sienna’s face burned even hotter.
She was the cold and disciplined daughter of a prestigious family, elegant and well-mannered.
From childhood to adulthood, she had never even held a man’s hand before.
Yet she had been forced into an arranged marriage with Nikolai Lennox, the most notorious playboy in high society, a wealthy heir infamous for his endless affairs and for changing women as easily as changing clothes.
She had fled from the wedding overnight, only to be unexpectedly kidn*pped by her family’s enemies and pushed off a cliff.
At the critical moment between life and death, Nikolai jumped down without hesitation and shielded her tightly with his own body. She escaped without a scratch, while a sharp tree branch pierced straight through his heart.
That day, the snow fell heavily, and blood stained the white ground a shocking crimson.
Nikolai’s gaze trembled slightly as he forced himself to raise a hand and wipe away her tears.
"Don’t cry. From now on, they’ll never force you into an arranged marriage again. You’re free."
At that moment, an indescribable emotion surged through Sienna’s heart, breaking through every barrier she had built around herself.
Her pounding heartbeat roared in her ears.
Trembling, she pressed against his bleeding wound while tears streamed uncontrollably down her face.
"Nikolai, I’m willing to marry you!"
Perhaps because of those words, he was miraculously saved.
After they got engaged, Nikolai gave up his reckless lifestyle and spoiled her endlessly.
Afraid she would get jealous, he stopped having scandals with actresses. He even replaced all his secretaries and drivers with men, returned home before ten every night, and endured being teased by his friends for being 'whipped.'
To marry her, he memorized all three thousand Lennox family rules, knelt barefoot across burning coals, and even had an entire proposal letter tattooed across his back.
He loved her to the core. After tasting intimacy, he had even coaxed her into secretly crossing the line with him inside the Maybach…
Suddenly, the sharp sound of a notification interrupted them. Nikolai glanced at the screen, and his expression instantly changed.
He abruptly pushed the breathless Sienna out of the car.
"There’s an urgent matter at the company. I need to handle it. Go home first."
Caught completely off guard, Sienna was thrown onto the cold street, barely clothed, while crowds of people passed by around her.
Her eyes filled with disbelief. Nikolai loved her desperately. Normally, he would get jealous even if she wore a slightly revealing evening gown and would immediately drape a shawl over her shoulders. Yet now he had thrown her onto the roadside without the slightest regard for her dignity?
Her clothes were disheveled, and several men stared at her openly.
"Isn’t that Sienna Moretti?"
"Tsk, tsk. So much for being some refined lady from a prestigious family. Who would’ve thought she played this wild in private?"
"I wonder what a rich heiress like her is really like at night…"
The cruel whispers stripped away her reputation and dignity like invisible hands.
Sienna bit her lip hard and knocked on the car window miserably.
"Nikolai, what could possibly be so urgent that you’d throw me out of the car like this?"
"I…" Nikolai’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he was about to speak, but the phone call on the other end urged him to leave immediately.
The last trace of hesitation vanished completely.
His lips tightened into a thin line as his long fingers gripped the steering wheel. Then he slammed down on the accelerator.
Bang!
Sienna accidentally fell hard onto the freezing pavement. Her knees scraped against the ground until they bled, and she watched in despair as the Maybach sped away into the distance.
A sharp pain stabbed repeatedly through her heart.
No matter how hard she tried, she could not understand what could possibly be more important than his own fiancée—important enough to leave her humiliated in front of everyone.
Clutching her torn dress tightly, Sienna limped forward and flagged down a taxi.
"Driver, follow the car ahead."
