"He was my chaos... and my peace."

Mira’s world is built on a foundation of unshakeable faith, quiet devotion, and the pristine comfort of her sheltered life. She knows exactly who she is, what she wants, and the kind of pure, enduring love she is waiting for. She doesn't have time for distractions, let alone the dangerous temptations of high school drama.

Then came Zayne Wilder.

Standing at a commanding 6'5", tatted up, shrouded in all-black, and carrying a reputation that precedes him like a storm, Zayne is everything Mira has been taught to avoid. He is reckless, deeply cynical, and harbors a fierce, simmering anger against a world that has only ever offered him transactions instead of truth.

When a corrupt school system throws them into the same orbit, two completely opposite worlds violently collide. To Mira, Zayne is a walking warning sign—a dangerous temptation that threatens to disrupt her peaceful relationship with God. To Zayne, Mira’s unyielding innocence is an irritating enigma he can't seem to shake.

She is determined to stay away. He is determined to look out the window and ignore the world. But in the quiet, agonizing spaces of a slow-burning friction, boundaries begin to blur.

Can the purest light find its home in the darkest heart? Or will the chaos of Zayne’s world completely shatter Mira's fragile grace?

Chapter One.
Love, Then Grace Chapter One. ".. And for those who haven't been granted the gift of salvation. Heavenly Father I pray that you send your reaper angels to harvest them for your kingdom. And make them know oh Lord, just how much you love them. In Jesus name I pray. Amen." Mira finished her morning prayer and stood up from her kneeling position feeling the blood rush back to her legs. She had woken up a few minutes later than usual. But not even that was going to make her hurry her precious time with God. Once she was done with her morning devotions, though, she had to hurry. She bounded into the bathroom and began her usual hygiene routine. Trying not to glance at the clock above her. She was very late. She had dressed up in her outfit for the day. A soft pastel pink knit sweater over a white top paired with a skirt made of the same material as her sweater. She put on her shoes and left her room. Her parents were already up. Her mom was busy in the kitchen while her father sat at the head of the dining table a newspaper in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other. "Hey mum. Morning dad." she greeted. Heading straight for the kitchen she gave her mum a kiss on the cheek. "Morning baby you had breakfast yet?" Mira shook her head. "I'm late already as it is." She said Her mom shook her head fondly before stuffing a piece of toast into Mira's mouth and packing chicken sandwiches into her bag. "Off you go now sweetheart. Did you pray this morning?" her mum asked. Mira nodded frantically, her mouth full as she headed for the door. "Bye mum. See you later dad." She said making her way towards the door. "Enjoy your day love." her dad said to her as his wife draped his blazer over him and adjusted his tie. As she closed the door, she caught her parents holding hands to pray like they usually did before her dad went to work. She smiled and shook her head. She was really thankful to God for her parents. ******** It was five minutes past eight when Mira got to school. But it wasn't so bad. It only meant she had missed the morning assembly. She went straight to her locker to take out the books she needed for the day. On her way she bumped into her best friend Chloe who was gesturing excitedly to the person she was talking to. "Mira! Morning. Did you hear? everyone is talking about it." Chloe said excitedly. Her face was stretched into a grin so wide her dimples were on full display. She resisted the urge to roll her eyes. Chloe was always over excited about every little thing. "What is it this time?" Chloe beamed like she'd been offered candy. Always at the heart of school gossip. "We have a new transfer student. I think he's in the principals office. They said he's really hot. Like the whole bad-boy thing. He looks dangerous......." Mira tuned her out. Her friend had new crushes every week. It was nothing new. "Are you even listening to me?" Chloe asked and Mira pulled out her most innocent expression. "Uhh. No?" "Aishhh you little.... But jokes aside. I think you'll like this one Mira." Chloe said and Mira wanted to laugh. She didn't do relationships. Sure she had crushes every now and then but it never led to anything. She didn't have time to fool around. And no wanna be bad boy was gonna change that. "Oh yeah?" "Mhmm. He's your type." Chloe said like it was the most normal thing in the world. This time Mira actually laughed. "And you know this because?" "I just know." Chloe said shrugging. "The good girls always fall for the bad boys. Happens all the time." As they walked to class, Mira didn't bother explaining to Chloe that she only wanted a man who was willing to love her like Christ loved the church. Chloe wouldn't understand. At least, not yet. School passed in a blur and soon she found herself walking back home with her insufferable best friend who could not stop going on and on about a boy she had never even met. ‎ ‎"I'm sure he's going to be super hot. Like y'know biker-kind-of-hot. I've always had a thing for bikers." Mira rolled her eyes ‎"You need to shut up." Chloe didn't hear her. Instead, she continued sighing dreamily and talng until Mira heard a sentence that had blood rushing to her face. ‎ ‎"You both would make excellent babies. I'm sure of it." Chloe nodded to herself. Mira stopped in her tracks, staring like her best friend had sprouted a pair of horns. Chloe took onelook at her scandalized expression and shrugged. ‎ ‎"What? I'm only saying the truth. Pretty genes plus handsome genes equals genius babies." Mira shook her head in disbelief. ‎ ‎" First off, why are you going on about someone you haven't even met. He may not be that good-looking...." ‎ ‎"Oh he's good looking alright. I can feel it in my bones." Chloe interrupted. Nodding to herself like a self acclaimed seer. Mira rolled her eyes and continued. ‎"Second of all. There will be absolutely no babies Chloe I don't even know the guy!" Chloe just laughed. Skipping like she was Cupid's personal assistant. ‎"Oh mark my words Mira. There WILL be babies." They reached Chloe's house first and Mira waved her friend goodbye. Chloe waved back walking backwards until she tripped on the first step of the front porch and fell on her butt. "You'd thank me later." Mira rolled her eyes at her friend's antics and continued the short and lonely walk to her own house.
