Damien’s POV
Receiving orders from Jake instinctively made me want to defy them. As I was also an Alpha, he had no right to try to force his will upon me. The only one who had the authority to do so was the Alpha King.
However, given that he was telling me to keep my distance from Annette, I happened to agree with him on this matter. So, as annoying as it was to back off this potential argument to let Jake feel like he had earned some victory, I knew that he was right.
Pulling in my anger, I said, “I love Amelia with the entirety of my heart, now and forever. I have no intention of finding a replacement.”
