Amelia’s POV
Cooking, it seemed, had been a massive mistake. I wanted so badly to give everyone a good meal, and to make amends with Sienna. She’d been eyeing that best cut of steak, so I thought I’d surprise her by giving it to her.
I had thought she’d be pleased, but instead she accused me of poisoning her? She had seemed pale. Gods, what if I did give her food poisoning. Had I undercut her steak somehow, or maybe that piece had gone bad.
I replayed everything over and over in my mind, trying to determine where I had made the mistake that would lead to Sienna getting so sick, especially so quickly.
As Sienna darted from the room, the others hurried to follow her. I stayed behind, certain my presence wouldn’t be welcomed.
