When I was alerted that there was an urgent call from one of the spies I had sent to Jake’s pack, I dropped everything and ran to my office. My thoughts in that moment became so singularly focused that I couldn’t even remember what I had been doing.
Nothing was more important than making sure Amelia and our child were safe.
Ethan held out the phone for me. I immediately grabbed it and brought it to my ear.
“Talk,” I said at once.
“Alpha, Alpha Jake’s family has been brought to the hospital. Amelia is with them.”
“Tell me everything,” I insisted, my heart hammering so loudly, I could barely hear my spy’s voice through the phone over the furious pounding.
