Jake’s POV “Stop!” I called, and everyone on my side halted. A few of the group had already been let through the border, including the doctor and a nurse. Damien was still waiting on the other side with a few of his own enforcers whom I recognized from some of our meetings. They were Damien’s most trusted, something like his right-hand men. Damien must have been hoping to sneak in undetected, though he made no attempt to hide who he was. As I walked closer to him, he didn’t show any shame.
