Claire’s words stuck with me even after she left, not because I thought she had any kind of point to make – she didn’t – but because I started to worry who might else feel the same way as she did.
With her strong werewolf lineage, Claire was one of the backbones of our pack. This was one of the reasons I had been convinced to allow her to carry my heir when her family and mine approached me with the idea.
As such, she likely had a better read on the feelings of the pack than I did, especially when it came to Amelia, whom I could admit I had a pretty big blind spot for.
If Claire felt that way about Amelia, then likely others did too. Maybe more than I had even considered before…
