chapter 24

piper.

it's been such a long week between classes and work I've hardly seen sadie or neal, I know he told me I no longer needed to work but I'm just not sure if he really means it or if he's really ready for me to be completely dependent on him. he doesn't understand that sadie isn't cheap and neither are the bills on top of that he has it set up for us to go look at the house tomorrow or well I guess today since it's just now 3 in the morning and I've just come home from work and emailed my assignments for the day.

I let out a small sigh when I see he's sound asleep, but I can't be mad at that it is 3 am and no normal person is awake still. but a woman has needs! I wasn't like this before him, hell I hadn't had actual s*x in a don't know how long before he came along and woke up this part of me.

I woke up with pea this morning and let piper sleep in. I know she's exhausted but she's being stubborn about working, I have a plan though.

I fixed pea breakfast and started the laundry as we have a slightly busy and amazing day today I hope.

I sit on the swing watching pea play in the yard thinking about earlier this morning when I caught her. sexiest thing I've ever seen and to think I was pissed when I first heard her small moans coming from the bathroom because of course my mind went to a bad place.

I see piper making her way outside I my shirt hair a mess looking beautiful with a cup of coffee in her hands. I sure hope she has some shorts on even though my shirt is long I'd hate for the neighbors to get a peak of her fine ass.

I hear blade on the phone but I was caught in my own head

me- let me get this done and I'll be in touch gotta go.

I say before hanging up she sits beside me with an eyebrow raised

she lets out a sigh. we sip our coffee as we watch pea play.

I really hope today goes as planned if not I'm not sure my ego can handle it. but I'll have to suck it up for that little girl.

" you shower. laundry is taken care of and pea is fed. are you hungry yet?"

I shower and style my hair, adding a little make up and putting on some skinny jeans and a cute top

I'm really nervous about today. I already know from the front view of this house that I'm gonna love it. but neal seems to be acting weird, he hung up the phone as soon as I got close earlier and then didn't seem like be wanted to talk about who he was on the phone with. I decided to call addie. taking a long sip of my coffee waiting for her to answer

addie- hey sweet cheeks what are you doing?

me- uh nothing about to go to lunch and look at this house with neal and Sadie.

addie-that's exciting. shh don't you sound excited?

me- uh I don't know. neals acting a little strange this morning and we haven't had much time together this week, I'm kind of worried he's pulling away with me being so busy.

addie- well I'm sure you are over thinking it hun. what is he doing now?

me- um I guess watching tv with sadie while I was getting ready...

addie- doesn't sound to me like he running away maybe he'd just trying to give you a hand?

me- I'm not sure. he was on the phone earlier and hung up as soon as I came out. what if he's found someone new?

addie- hun please stop overthinking and just enjoy your day with your little family. what are you wearing??

I sigh at her change of subject

me- skinny jeans and a cute top.. I may change the jeans I'm not sure how I like them..

she cuts me off

addie-no definitely wear them you have a great ass for them!

I roll my eyes even though I can't see her.

me- uh okay I'm gonna let you go. I guess il call you once I've seen how the day goes

I hang up and look myself over one more time.

I try not to let the little voice in my head get to me. but it still does. Ryan told me my ass was too fat for skinny jeans so he wouldn't let me wear them. now that I've had a kid I know I probably definition look stupid. I sigh and make my way to the living room where Sadie and neal are watching a princess movie.

I sigh again and smile at the sight. she really love him. she's sitting in his lap playing with his beard, eyes glued to the tv.

as soon as I make myself seen I feel his eyes roam over my body and I blush and start to get even more nervous. he hasn't ever told me to change but then again he hasn't seen me in this before.

I give him a small smile as he places sadie down and makes his way towards me. be gently takes my hand not saying a word and leads me back to our room. oh boy this isn't gonna end well. we enjoy Mexican for lunch and neal surprised me by ordering me a margarita saying i needed to enjoy myself he was driving anyways.

the alcohol didn't help my wondering eyes.

he looks extremely handsome today, in a black button down and tight jeans with his boots.

we make it to the house were looking at and I instantly fall in love with it again. the yard is beautiful and it has a sideway to the garage where Sadie can ride her bike. the porch looks lovely from here and I can already see myself sitting with coffee watching Sadie play.

I let my eyes take it all in as we make our way to the front door. sadie in neals arms as he holds my hand I look over at him with a smile.

he really loves sadie even if he's getting fired of me.

once we get into the house were greeted by a man's voice

" ah Mr and Mrs Yates! I'm so glad you wanted to see this one. it's definitely got charm"

the relator says and I blush at being referred to as his wife.

he squeezes my hand and I take my eyes off the beautiful wooden entry way to look up at him smiling down at me.

" katelynn is that you?"

says the voice and I look away from neals eyes

" Tom?"

I question and he laughs

" yes! it's been years! since highschool. this must be your daughter I heard you had a baby but didn't hear of you getting married"

I blush again great the quarterback of my highschool is about to find out I'm a single mother not that I'm ashamed but everyone always thought I was going places in highschool. voted most likely to achieve.

" not married yet but hopefully soon"

neal states winking at me and I can't help but giggle at the thought.

" uh yes this is Sadie our daughter and this is neal my um boyfriend"

neal squeezes my hand again smiling from ear to ear

" well it's great to meet everyone and to see you again! can't believe you look better than you did in highschool"

Tom says and I can't help but laugh because that's obviously not true.

neal clears his throat

" we'd like to see the house if you are done eyeing my girlfriend". he says in a strained voice and I see toms eyes widen and I giggle

" oh yes. right this way."

he shows us the top floor first. 4 bedrooms and 4 bathroom. sadie hasn't left neals arms not surprising.

once we enter the master I fall in love again. it's massive with a walk in closet and a large window over looking the pool and back yard.

we walk into the bathroom and my eyes go wide.

it has a massive tub big enough for 4 people and a shower with his and her skins.

Tom is talking about things about the house and I'm not even listening as my eyes take everything in.

" you know the tub looks like it needs to be broke in"

neal whispers in my ear making me blush.

I playfully hit his shoulder

" everything alright?"

Tom asks worried and I can't help but turn away because of the blush on my face

" oh most definitely. piper here has plans for the rub already"

neals states making me nudge him and he laughs.

we make our way back down stairs to a large kitchen and island. then the dinning room.

the living room has double door leading outside and a fire place with a home office of to the side. I'm once again lost taking everything in.

sadie gets down from neals arms and runs for the doors excited about the pool bouncing

I can't help but laugh at her excitement.

" go in sweet girl we will be right out but stay outside of the fence leading to the pool"

I say and she smiles real big." yes ma'am"

once she's gone tom starts talking again but I'm again blocking him out taking everything in.

neal wraps his arms around me

" I'd love to make love to you in front of the fire place this Christmas"

I can feel tom looking at us so we make our way hand in hand to the back yard

it's beautiful trees every where and the pool. a small pool house off to the side which tom shows us has room for a bed and small shower and sitting area.

there's a place for a grill, and the porch does wrap all the way around to the back. sadie is already running playing. I stand there watching her

neal.

God I'm so nervous! I knew she'd love the house now to get her to agree to buying it and soon I'm gonna see if she will be my wife.

between my nerves and this prick eyeing her ass the whole tour I'm really on edge.

" well what do you guys think?"

he asks not looking at me. I look at piper watching Sadie play and she smiles.

" I love it but neal what are we gonna do with the extra room and the price is a bit much and this yard will be so much work."

piper says trying to talk her heart out of it

" I'm hoping we will feel the rooms with kids. the yard I will handle and hopefully said kids will be playing with pea. as for the price don't even think about it"

I feel her body tense. okay it's now or never. I unwrap myself from her and get down on one knee behind her as she wraps her arms around her own body I know she's overthinking all of this. I let out a sigh and pull out the box I have

" piper ann I love you.."

I start and she turns around and throws her hands to bed mouth gasping.

I continue

" I want to spend the rest of my life making you happy and making that little girl happy. I know you can find better and if I wasn't so selfish and I didn't think it'd kill me to see you with someone else I'd let you go. but I can't do that. my heart needs you. I need you. will you do me the honor of being my wife?"

I pause waiting as she looks me over tears falling and it seems like for ever my heart is beating out of my chest waiting for an answer.

" yes." she finally chokes out and I jump up and spin her around kissing her tears away.

I slowly set her back down and slip the ring on her beautiful small hand

" I love you". she whispers and I smile f*****g her hair behind her ear

I say and she looks at me with wide eyes and I see the worry

I grab both her hands and look in her eyes.

she's crying again but she nods her head yes and I let out a sigh I didn't know I was holding as I wrap her in my arms. holding her tight

" mama are you okay?"

she questions worried and I bend down to her kissing her head

" mamas fine. I asked her to marry me is that okay?" she smiles real big

" does that mean you are staying forever?"

I chuckle

" yes pea always" she hugs me and I stand up holding her.

I take pipers hand

" I know this is alot but I have one more question but I don't need an answer just yet." she slowly nods letting me continue

" I'd like to officially give her my last name also. when ever you think the time is right for the both of you. I love her like my own and I want it on paper as well. I want her to carry my last name along with any other we have in the future piper"

she's crying hard as she wraps her arms around me and I hold them both tight.

once she pulls away she smiles.

" we can talk that over"

I nod agreeing and pull out one more box

" this is for you pea. will you let me be your Daddy and let me marry mama?"

she giggles

I squeeze her before placing her down opening the box and showing her the necklace

once we've both calmed down tom clears his throat

" well alright then. I guess only paperwork and bank then I can hand over the keys"

he leads us back inside without even saying congratulations. he must be pissed.

sadie is in exploring the house while piper and I sign the paperwork looking it over before she sigithe mast page she looks at me

" are you sure about all this? because if you change your mind.."

I place my finger to her lips

" I'm positive and if you ever change your mind you also own this house. it is going to be laid in full piper. it's ours"

her eyes go wide and she nods without words we both sign the last page and I give him the check. l turn and pull her into my arms kissing her with passion.
