"If you want to go, I don't have to keep you," I said. "I know you have duties."
The thought of him leaving pained me. I didn't want him to go, but I didn't want to force him to stay, either. It wouldn't be fair.
"Yes. I have some duties as your mate as you do as mine. Let us enjoy this for now."
I smiled back at him at his reply.
"Okay, I can do that."
It's incredible how much can be said with so few words. Even as we sat there wrapped up in each other's arms, speechless, I could feel how pleased my mate was. There was something much more powerful between us, and it was palpable; it radiated the room.
