Chapter Two Samantha's POV Cool breeze instantly hit my face softly as I opened my eyes. The last thing I remembered was falling unconscious and now I was staring at a plain white ceiling I've never seen before. I looked left and right and realized I was in a strange room. I didn't want to think the unthinkable before I looked down at myself and realized I was still completely dressed. A sigh of relief escaped my lips as I forced myself up. I felt weak and tired and didn't want to leave that soft bed but I had to. I swung my feet down the bed and stood up gently. I still didn't know how I got here because the last thing I registered of my surrounding was someone approaching me. Wait… "You're finally up sleeping beauty." I head a cold and chilly voice behind me and I turned to look at the same guy always staring at me in the clubhouse standing there, half naked. To saw I wasn't taken aback by his rock hard chest and eight packs abs would be a lie but I shook my head, reminding myself I had no time for men or anything. "You fell unconscious last night and I didn't know where to take you to, so I brought you to my hotel room. Nothing bad happened." He said as he turned back to close the door of the bathroom he was coming out from and I was shocked to see a black dragon tattoo on his back. The dragon had emerald eyes like him and the wings were spread out majestically. "Thank… thank you very much for helping and saving me." I said as loud as I could before muttering. "I don't want to think of what could have happened if he didn't come." "You're welcome…" My thoughts immediately went to Ariel. I didn't go home, I didn't even call them at all because my phone was out of battery. I turned to look at my back which was laying on the chair and I snatched it hurriedly. "I'm sorry, I have to go. Thank you very much again." I said hurriedly as I rushed out of the room. Ariel and Briella would be so worried. Ariel had school this morning and she wouldn't go without me being there. I rushed out of the hotel building and realized I was far away from Downtown street where I lived. As I was about to start sprinting, a taxi parked next to me. "Are you Miss Samantha?" The driver asked and I nodded. "The man you just left his room asked me to take you to your destination." He said as the door opened. I didn't know if I'm to trust him but Ariel would be worried sick and it would take me an hour walk from here back home. I got into the taxi and he drove me to my street immediately. I walked to my apartment building immediately, not bothering to pay the guy and he just drove off anyways. I rushed to my one room alarm which I lived with my daughter, and I saw Briella sitting on the bed looking worried sick. "Samantha, where have you been?" Briella yelled as she hugged me tightly. "You don't know how many hours it took me to get Ariel out to school because she hasn't seen you this morning. I had to tell her you made her breakfast before rushing off which I know she would discover once she tastes it that you didn't make it but woman, next time, call if you're spending the night out." "But this is so unlike you to spend the night out at all." "I didn't plan on spending the night out either. A lot happened and I had to spend it out." I replied and sat down before telling her everything that happened. "Oh my goodness. I told you already Samantha, even if it is leftovers from the restaurant, eat. It won't make them fire you for eating leftovers. Even I don't have enough money to feed myself again but I've been bringing home leftovers from my workplace." Briella said scoldingly and a sigh escaped my lips. This struggling both of us are facing was just intense and if that scumbag hadn't taken away even all my savings, at least we would be living fine here. "You should get to work Briella. It's almost time for your shift." I said to her gesturing at the clock. "Could you borrow me some bucks till I get my payment from the club?" "I've got only about fifteen with me." She said shifting her glasses up as she dug her hands into her pocket and brought out ten dollars for me. "Thanks Bestie." I forced a smile and she pulled me into a loving hug before walking out of the room. I opened my bag to put the money in when I saw a food warmer and a note on it. "My doctor said you haven't had a stable and balanced meal in weeks. I hope this would help for today. - Mysterious guy from the club." I brought out the warmer and place it on the table. The food looked expensive as I brought each plate out of the warmer and set the food in down in the four small bowls in the warmer. My mouth watered but I knew I had to keep for Briella and Ariel when they got back. I surely wanted to repay him and I knew this food would be over ten bucks to repay him tonight with the money I had but I would pay that one anyways and balance the rest when I get paid. I set aside some of the food and started eating hungrily. I haven't had this fancy meal in years despite the fact that I saw them with my eyes almost everyday where I worked, but I never tasted them. The food was so delicious and I seem to have forgotten how these foods tasted. I ate the rice balls and chicken and I felt satisfied before I dressed up for my shift. I prepared Briella's and Ariel's for the afternoon and the one we would eat at night. The day's meal was balanced and I had him to thank for that. Even though I didn't know his name, I was very grateful. After the long day, I arrived at the clubhouse, waiting for him to arrive but he didn't come all through the night. I waited and even offered to help the next person who's shift was after mine to wait a bit but nothing so I left for home. Briella was asleep while Ariel was awake in bed and I guessed she pretended to be asleep till Briella slept off. Immediately she saw me, she ran into my hug and sobbed. "I haven't seen you since yesterday morning momma." She sniffed and I patted her head gently. "I'm sorry princess. Now go to bed. You have school tomorrow." She nodded obediently before walking back to bed and a smile lit up my face as I watched her. She was the best thing that ever happened to me and I wouldn't let anything or anyone take her away from me. I went back to work for a whole week straight and didn't see this mysterious guy come back. I began to think he didn't exsist anymore and was just sent to me that night when suddenly, someone coughed before me. "Fancy seeing you tonight." He said and I raised my brow on what he meant by tonight. I was just out of work yesterday, it being my day off. "Thank you for the other day." I said to him and all he did was give me a bright smile. "I'll like to…" "Samantha, get back to work or you won't be getting your payment today again." Manager Penny yelled at me and I hurriedly got back to work with him looking at me for a few minutes before I noticed he had left. I missed the chance of giving him the money for that food again. I knew it wouldn't add to his wealth, he getting drinks worth thousands of dollars but I didn't want to be a charity case. "Should I drop you off?" I heard a voice from the car that stopped next to me as I walked out after my shift. It was him again. "No, thank you very much. I'll just walk. But wait." I reached out for the envelope in my bag and handed it to him. "For the food you bought for me the other day." "No need to worry about that. It was just a kind gesture." He replied waving his hands. "I insist." I replied and he looked at me for a few minutes before speaking up. "Well, since you want to pay me, let's talk over dinner. Get in." He said and I reluctantly agreed and he drove me to one of the most fancy restaurant in town.
