Ned orders coffee for us as I sit down in a booth. I have no idea why we are here, but Ned said this has to do with Lyle and me, so I need to hear what he has to say. I'm nervously twitching my fingers when Ned places two cups down on the table and sits down across from me.
"This one is for you. Milk and sugar, right? I like mine black." Ned says as he takes a sip of his coffee.
"Why are we here?" I ask right away. Ned looks at me and smirks.
"Alright, you want to get right to it. Well, we are here because Lyle is a sick person and he shouldn't become the alpha. I want to make sure that happens with the help of your mates." Ned says. I look at him shocked.
"What are you talking about? You are Lyle's beta, his friend. Why would you want that?" I ask.
