She threw her phone on her bed out of exasperation. She didn’t know what to do.
“You haven’t moved on from me.”
She kept hearing the last words he said to her this morning. She was sure he said those to irritate her and to make her succumb to his conditions, just to prove that she had already moved on from him.
Damn that man!
His conditions were just absurd: In 30 days, he wanted her to eat with him, go whenever he asked her to accompany him, cook dishes whenever he requested it, play the piano for him and he wanted her to sleep beside him. Also, it was stipulated in the contract that she was not allowed to be with any man in 30 days except him.
Those tasks were easy if they were talking about how they were in the past. But that was over and done with already.
“I’m sorry, Father. I really couldn’t do it.”

When she came back to her Father’s mansion, she asked the maid to bring the luggage in her room. Since she was going to stay for two weeks, she decided to just stay at her father’s place. After all, it might even take her several years before she came back to Centuria again.
Charles informed her that William was in his study room.
When she was standing behind the door, she knocked and called her father.
“Father, may I come in?” No one was answering.
“Father?” She decided to open the door and stepped inside the room.
When she looked at her father’s table, she saw that he was asleep. His head and arms were resting on the table.
She noticed that his right hand was on top of a picture frame. When she moved closer, she saw her mother’s picture.
He must have been thinking about her mother before he fell asleep. Emily felt pity as she studied her father’s face.
She quietly left the room and went straight to her room. She sat on her bed and thought about the conditions of Kai.
“You really haven’t moved on from me.”
She curled her right hand into a fist as she remembered his words.
“You’re wrong, Kai Stevens. I’ll show you.”
She dialed his number. It rang for the first time and it was answered by him right away.
It was as if he was waiting for her call.
“Let’s meet at Paradise. 2P.M.” Then, she ended the call.

“Why don’t you just offer him a bigger price, Em? You don’t need to do this.”
Albert and Emily were having lunch together and she informed him about Kai’s conditions and her decision.
“Al, Father has been offering him triple the price of the company but he has rejected all the time. He doesn’t want any money, Al. He wants…”
“You. And I don’t want you to, Em. Tell me how I can help. Just don’t give in to his conditions.” Albert said while holding her hands.
Emily could feel that Albert was angry. He was also worried about her. But what could she do?
That man left her with no choice.
“Al, I’ll be okay. I have moved on already. And by saying yes, I can show him that I am over with him, Al. Do not worry about me. I can take care of myself.”
“Em…” What could he do? He understood that she was doing it for her father and the memory of her mother, but he just didn’t like what he was feeling.
“What if you fall for him again?” He couldn’t stop himself from asking.
Emily shook her head. “No, Al. That will not happen again.”
“Oh God, please don’t let him take her away from me again.” Albert thought.

Paradise Cafe
“What’s your decision?” Kai was looking intently at Emily while she was taking a sip from her coffee.
She put down the cup and stared at him also.
“I’ll sign the contract but on one condition.”
Kai leaned back on his chair and said, “You are in no position to make conditions here, Emily.”
She didn’t waver her gaze from him and he could see the determination on her beautiful face.
“No hanky-panky, Kai Stevens.” She directly said.
Kai raised his eyebrows and gave her a smirk. “Are you sure about that?” That seductive smile again!
Emily stood. “If you will not agree with my condition, then let’s forget about this talk. Own Elise Enterprise all you want.” She was about to leave when Kai spoke.
“Deal.”
He stood and moved in front of her.
“Are we not going to shake hands?” He teasingly said. He was so near her. She didn’t move away and instead held her ground and stared at his face.
“What for?”
Kai moved close. She didn’t dare move away.
“Well, it’s a deal, after all. Are you af---"
She extended her right hand for a handshake.
Kai glanced at her extended hand and looked at her for a brief second before saying, “I’d rather seal it with a kiss.”
Before Emily could react, he already encircled her waist with his left arm and his right hand was on her nape. Then, he kissed her!

Kai was staring at the disappearing image of Emily. He could still feel the sting on his left cheek where she had slapped him.
“Her lips feel and taste the same.” He thought. He couldn’t resist kissing her. He tried, but failed.
He smelled her sweet fragrance and the warmth emitting from her body when he moved closer to her.
Her lips that could perfectly fit his were all that was in his mind. He didn’t regret kissing her. He didn’t mind getting slapped because of it.
“No hanky-panky? Huh! I’ll try but I’m not making any promises, my dear Emily.”
He chuckled as he thought about preparing his face for a lot of times that he would surely be slapped by Emily.
The game is on!
