The roles reversed

i tiptoed past the dining room incase the triplets were still eating and then ran out the door as fast as possible. i saw the beach that was just behind the pack house and started to run. i looked at  massive clock that was staition on the outside of the packhouse for curfew reasons. it was 11:55. id better hurry or id miss the time mark and my little moment. though i wouldn't be able to howl. just yell. oh well i had taken off my pjs and was left in just my bathing suit. 10 seconds. i plunged forward into the sea until i stood up to my shoulders in cold salty sea water. 3 seconds. 2 seconds. 1 second. mae suddenly felt as if her body was being ripped to pieces as she let loose a blood curdling scream and her head flew back. there was a horrible burning sensation spreading down form the top of her head. once it reached her bathing suit. it started to smoke and she watched in horror as it lit on fire. she plunged herself deeper into the water but that did nothing to help. it just made it worse so she re surfaced. she was now stark naked and the burning sensation had spread to her legs. this was when she realized she hadn't been breathing. she gurgled trying desperately to grasp air but couldn't . she grabbed her throat and felt strange skin flaps on it. her eyes widened. she started shaking. she had gills , proper gills and in the Adrenalin of having no breath came only one thought. water. she thrust her head under water and tried again to breath. cold, fresh, glorious air flooded through her lungs as she coughed out bubbled. she was still shaking violently but it didn't take her long to realize something. oh my moon goddess. she had a tail. a shining beautiful baby blue tail. with glittering  scales and a holographical look to it. she almost passed out. she was a mermaid. that's why she couldn't shift. that's why she didn't have a wolf. that's why she didn't have enhanced senses. but wait. she took a deep breath and lifted her head above the sea. her eyes stung a little from the cold air but she blinked. then she gasped, everything was outlined so clearly and it was like she could zoom. and un zoom . she could hear a small animal rustling in a bush a km away. she could smell so many new things but a certain group of smells stood out to her clearly. cinnamon with a hint of hot chocolate. lavender mingled with rose and the smell of the wind on a hot summer day. wow . my mouth watertered just from these smells. then i froze. was it the smell of my mate? i whooped! i was gonna find my mate! then i realized. i was swimming with a tail, how i was i going to change back? maybe it was just like a wolf?.. so i closed my eyes and envisioned my human self, i also envisioned myself in a comfortable hoodie and standing on the shore. i felt myself whooshing fast through the water and then completely dry. i then felt myself dressed in something warm, soft and comfortable. i opened my eyes. blinked and realized that exactly what i had envisioned. had happened. i wonder how far this could go. could i use it as a power? then i shook myself and set my mind on the important matter. my mate. i started running towards the smells, letting my trusty nose lead me with my heart pumping faster with every step.
