I'm not human

Clara's POV

After I was done dressing up, I ate breakfast and went to my study room. I'm reading a book on how to govern a kingdom and I want to finish it before the end of today.

I hadn't read much when one of my maid came in.

"Your Highness..."

"What is it this time?" I cut her off

"The council members seek your presence" she said making me scoff

Really? Why do they like disturbing me everytime?

"Alright. I will be there soon" I said dismissing her

I finished the page I was reading before going to meet them in the hall.

"Your...."

"Go straight to the point because I'm extremely busy. Why do you want to see me?" I asked them taking a sit

"We brought good news Your Highness" they said making me arch my brows

"Good news? What good news?"

"We have gotten rid of Richard and his men. We found them in the forest trying to escape to a village"

"Really? Are you sure?"

"Yes. We double checked Richard and made sure he was really dead"

"That's great! It's not even up to three days and you were able to accomplish it. Looks like I will be retaining you for a long time"

"Your grace is immeasurable"

"Alright. You can throw a party this evening to celebrate your victory"

"Thank you Your Highness" they said and I left the hall

So Richard is out of the way now? That's great!

I'm left with two enemies for now. Once I am able to subdue them, the people will be able to live in peace for a really long period of time.

Jason's POV

I couldn't sleep throughout the night. All I kept seeing was Clara anytime I closed my eyes.

When I saw the time was 6am, I quickly got up and left the room where I slept. I went to the kitchen and started preparing breakfast because I didn't want to stay alone.

After I was done cooking, I went back to the room and took a quick bath before wearing by office clothes.

"I'm leaving for the office Samuel!" I shouted on my way downstairs

Samuel is actually the name of the friend I spent the night at his place.

I got into my car and drove speedily to my office.

I really liked Clara the first time I met her but now, I don't know what I want anymore. I don't know if I want to continue seeing her or I don't want to see her ever again.

Work went on smoothly in the office until it was lunch time. I didn't get to eat the breakfast I prepared before I left for work this morning.

I don't even know how I'm going to eat lunch now. What if Clara appears again? Okay, I think I know what to do!

Since she was able to get my house, then she must know my office too. I will just go to a nearby restaurant and have lunch.

I kept the files I was working on before going to a close restaurant.

After I finished eating, I paid the waiter and left the restaurant happily. I'm glad I didn't come across Clara.

I still have little free time so let me just take a sit. Just few minutes after I sat, I felt a presence beside me and when I turned to look at the person, I discovered it was Clara.

No, this has got to be a dream. I wiped my face and looked around before turning to look at my side hoping no one will be there but I still met those pair of hazel eyes staring at me with a smile.

I gulped down nothing and faced front like I didn't see anything.

"Are you ignoring me now? I'm sorry I left without saying a word, it's because your friend came in" she said but I still kept quiet

"Jason? You don't want to be friends with me anymore?" she asked with a cracked voice and I was forced to look at her but that was the biggest mistake I made because I got lost in those eyes

"Why aren't you saying anything?"

"I.. I don't want us t...to be friends because you're scary" I managed to stutter

"B.. but how?"

"You just suddenly appeared in my room and disappeared again. How do you expect me not to get scared?"

"Ohh.. that! Let me tell you the truth about me. I'm not human" she dropped the bombshell

"You're not human? What are you then?" I asked shifting farther from her

"You haven't even seen me in my real form and you're already moving away from me? I guess we weren't meant to be friends then" she said and stood up

"It's not like that Clara, I..I" I stuttered but stopped when I realized I had nothing to say

"I understand. I just thought I could have a friend here on earth but it turns I was wrong. I'll be leaving now. Bye" she said and turned to leave but I stopped her

"You can stay, don't go. I'm just kind of scared, I'm sorry. You can sit beside me"

"Thank you" she said and sat gently

"So if you aren't human, what are you?" I asked staring keenly at her

"Well..... I can't tell you that now. I have some important things to take care of now so until then, I can't tell you what I am.

I will be back in the next five days, I think that should be more than enough time to finish what I have to do.

When I return, I want you to guess what I am. If you can guess rightly, then we can be really close friends and I will trust you with anything. I will be at this same spot waiting for you."

"So we won't be close friends if I don't guess correctly?" I stuttered

"Hmm... I don't know yet, I guess we should wait until then. I have to go now, bye" she waved at me before leaving

I'm so confused right now. She said she isn't human so what is she then? An animal or what? Aish!!! This is driving me crazy!!

I got into my car and drove back to the office.

Richard's POV

I sharpened my sword and dagger like my life depends on it.

When I got to the village, luck was on my side. I met a beautiful damsel that fell for me at first sight so I used the opportunity to my advantage.

She treated my wound and gave me food and a place to sleep. I will forever be grateful to her.

The rest people in the village just stared at me like I was some kind of curse.

I'm going to kill Clara tonight unfailingly and show her who the real boss is. I wore my mask and set out to her kingdom.

After an hour of walking, I finally saw the gate in front of me. Get ready Clara, your doom is knocking.

I skillfully got in through the walls and in no time, I was headed for Clara's room. I searched for the window and got into her room though it.

Without wasting time, I walked closer to the bed and stabbed what I expected to be Clara with the dagger I held but I was shocked when I discovered it was just clothes on the bed.

No, it can't be! What the hell is going on?
