Chapter two

Ethan's Pov

I went out to do my hunting with Ryan and Raphael's to clear my head from certain things. Lately my wolf has been thirsty to touch a woman, not any woman but my mate, I have tried bedding any other woman but it's not working out. Ryan suggested we go hunting to clear my head. As we moved into the bush, we saw a wild wolf circling somebody who was on the ground. We kept mute and stiffed our breath so as not to alert the wolf. After some minutes, the wolf left. We moved closer, and I saw a small creature unconscious on the ground. There was a thug in my heart seeing her lying helplessly. Ryan checked her pulse, and she was still alive. I carried her to my horse and rode off with Ryan and Raphael at my back. She didn't bulge throughout the ride. I carried inside and placed on the bed, and ordered the maids to clean her up and check to see when she woke up and report me. I went to the office and saw Ryan and Raphael sitting. "Why are you here? '' I asked them angrily, they were used to my tone, "is she the one? '' Raphael asked.

"No"

"Then why did your demeanour change when you saw her"

"Raphael, I don't have time for this now, I already told you she is not the one, so you can do it now" Raphael left my office angrily and Ryan stayed behind. " You won't be joining him," I asked him.

"Why are you lying to yourself" he said,

"What did you say?". I pretended not to hear him. "Nothing" and he left.

I know I have prayed to the gods for my mate, but I don't want a weak mate in this tough life. My mind was going whirlwind, what was she doing in the woods? Why was the wolf hovering over her without attacking her? I decided to drink to get my mind off it. I contacted Ryan through our mind link to go check on her several times but she wasn't waking, I was becoming disturbed cause it was getting dark, Ryan opened my door. "She is awake '' I left for the room immediately, I heard her discussing with Thelma, I walked into the room, and asked Thelma out. I asked how she got to that part of the wood and she lied, I asked for her pack, and I became angry immediately she told me. I hated that pack, my misery started from there. I was planning my attack on their alpha. I left the room immediately not wanting to take out my anger on her. During dinner, she was at the table before, I sat across from her, while Raphael and Ryan sat beside her, with her in between. They wanted to annoy me and they are doing excellent work at that. Ryan and Raphael introduced themselves, and Ryan whispered my name to her. She didn't look at me throughout the dinner, I guess she was afraid, because of the way I acted in her room. After dinner I left immediately, it was becoming hard to breathe near her without touching her. Raphael knew this and giggled as I left.

Saya's Pov

The following morning, I woke up, washed my face, and went to look for Thelma. She was in the kitchen. I noticed that there are only four maids in the house. "You are awake"

"Yes, please where can I see Ethan"

"You will see him during breakfast"

"Ok, can I help out" she nodded and I joined them in making breakfast, few minutes after we were done, Thelma went and called them. I helped in carrying the food, "won't you be joining them"

"No I want to eat you" I can't eat on that table again, the atmosphere is making me uncomfortable. We were eating in the kitchen, when Raphael came in, "why are you eating here". I was just staring at him not knowing how to tell him that I am not comfortable eating with them,and that my body always tingles around Ethan. "I'm okay here".

"Come to the dining table" he carried my food and left" I turned and looked at Thelma and she nodded. I moved to the dining room, all three pairs of eyes were looking my way. Ethan was angry, I don't know why, Ryan smiled at me. I sat down where Ryan kept food, that was between him and Ryan. Ethan's gaze kept following my movement, I almost stumbled, but I made it. Ethan finished and was leaving, "can I talk to you" I immediately turned and stared at me. "Finish your food and come to my office." He left and I went back to my food. Ryan took me to his office, I was hesitant to go knock, Ryan came and took me inside without knocking. Ethan didn't bulge from his position. I stood rooted on the floor. "Won't you say anything"

"Ehhhhm, I wan…ted to plea..d with you to employ me as a ... .maid" wow I am now starmering. "Why don't you want to go back to your pack? I have arranged for my men to take you back." Noooo this can't be happening I can't go back there, my lie is coming against me. "Sir please I don't want to go back there"

"Why"

"Is hell for me over there" I didn't know when I said that. He was staring at me, and the room became cold. "You can work here" he mumbled something that I didn't hear.

"Thank you sir."

"Is Ethan for you." I nodded and left his office. I was happy, why is my body always changing when I am around him, but I pushed that aside and ran to the kitchen, and told Thelma that I will be working with them. "Were you assigned to anywhere"

"No, he just said I can start working"

"Ok then, we have to look for Ryan to assign you where to work"

"Can't I work with you in the kitchen"

"I don't mind working with you, but that's for Ryan to decide" we went to the back and saw Ryan and Raphael training with some other people. He saw us and approached us. "Saya will be working here, so we came so that you can assign her where to work."

"What did you say?" Ryan half yelled.

"Who told you to work here, I mean did you tell Ethan"

"Yes, and he approved"

"Ok then, if that's what he wants, you can go back inside I will meet you later". We went back inside, and I helped Thelma in doing the dishes. I spent the afternoon with Thelma, and she told me more about The house and Ethan. He doesn't like associating with many people, and is the first stranger to ever sleep here. We made dinner together, and served dinner. I volunteered to call Ryan and Raphael while she called Ethan. During dinner, Raphael and Ethan were yelling at each other, but Thelma said I shouldn't listen to their conversation. Ryan called me to the dining room, and Raphael turned to me.

"Saya, since you will be working here as a maid, you will be serving Ryan and I cleaning our room", before he could finish his sentence Ethan jumped on him but he was fast and escaped him, Ethan pinned him to the wall choking him, Raphael was smirking at Ethan, "you won't say anything" he told Ethan. "Saya you can start working now" Ethan threw a punch at him, he was bleeding from his nose "don't you dare take a step from there" Ethan growled. What is going on here?
