Chapter 5Ash could tell Rafael didn’t want to have a second look at the cards, but he had that niggling feeling. “Found it!” Megan came back, carrying an ugly, green Christmas tree stand. With a triumphant smile, she put it on the ground. “Put it in, Rafael.” She grinned and squatted to fiddle with the screws keeping the tree in place. Ash left her to it and only half-listened to her instructions to Rafael. Soon the tree was standing on its own and Megan was beaming. “Look at that!
