She hadn’t told him over the phone what her idea precisely was, only that she’d thought of something and needed to come over to the hotel right away. Gabriel was certainly amenable to this suggestion, since he’d already found himself looking forward to seeing her again this morning. Possibly he anticipated their meeting far too much, but he would analyze those feelings later on, when he had time. Now he had hope again, even as he was forced to admit to himself that her suggestion might be something of a long shot.
