Ava watched as the plane descended toward the airport in New Orleans — or rather, far outside the city, since they would still have a good thirty-minute cab ride into town. Next to her, Gabriel looked calm enough, but there was something about the tightness in his jaw that told her he would be all too glad when this flight was over.
