March cooked his dinner that night. Fried chicken and rice with kimchi to be exact. He sat on the couch and started scanning Netflix for anime. He pulled up an anime called Banana Fish. He looked through the synopsis and found it quite interesting so he started watching it. An amazing anime by the way. Definitely Worth watching. An hour turned into two and he finally decided to sleep and continue it the next day. He went to his bedroom and closed the curtain set an alarm and covered himself in his warm blanket. A half past midnight, March suddenly woke up to the sound of a huge thump on the ground just outside his room. It was the first time he had heard anything aside from himself in the house. At first, he thought it was an animal. He stood up and opened the door. He walked towards the noise as if someone or something was trying to crawl or walk into the kitchen. I would have grabbed something with me. Like a bat or something. You know for protection. He slowly entered the kitchen. He couldn't believe his eyes. A man was limping around the fridge. He was well built and looked strong. It looked like he was hurt by someone or something. The man fell to the ground trying to get the water from the fridge. March immediately rushed to his aid. What would you do if some random person just showed up in your house in the middle of the night? The man had fainted. March checked his pulse. It seemed fine. I mean he was no doctor after all and he had only seen it being done in the movies. He picked the man up and carried him to his bed. Under close inspection, he found out that the man had severe cuts on his arms and his bones might have been fractured. March was baffled by everything that had just happened. He did not know what to do. So he turned to the almighty internet where every problem has a solution. Very modern of him, don't you think? March undressed the man first and brought a towel and a small tub of water. He began to clean the wounds and his body. He brought some antibiotics and bandages from the storage and tried to cover up his wound. March finally brought some sleeping pills and some painkillers and fed them to him. After doing everything he could he sat beside the naked man and covered him with the blanket. He closely watched his face and why wouldn't he be? This was the first person he has ever seen in years apart from his parents. And on top of that, he was captivating. He had a very distinct face. I mean how many faces has he seen in his life? March kept staring at the man and suddenly the alarm went off. It was 10 in the morning. March had fallen asleep beside the man that he had “found" yesterday. He checked up on him. The man had a slight fever. March woke up and washed his face and started making breakfast for himself and his guest as he stated. Would you be doing this for a person you don't even know? March pulled out some loaves of bread and put them in the toaster. He fried two eggs and bacon. He put some butter on the toast and served it with the egg and bacon. He poured out some orange juice from the fridge. Then he went to wake the "guest" up. He slowly entered the room. To his surprise, the man was wide awake and staring at him. March slowly approached him. "How are you feeling?" he asked with a gentle voice. The man denied answering. So March tiptoed nearer and asked him if he was hungry. The man sat still with no sign of communication. So March went even nearer right beside him. " The fever seems to have worn off," he said slightly caressing the man's forehead. The man immediately grabbed his hand and asked March " Where am I?" March trying to free himself replied that he was in his house. The man lets go of his hand. March tells the man to calm down and stands up to get breakfast for him. The man stops him" I will go with you." and stands up to go to the kitchen. March serves the man and finally dares to ask "What is your name ?" The man replies "Robert. My name is Robert". "What is yours?" he asked. March replied, "My name is March." Robert giggled " Like the month". "Yes.Like the month." March replied with a smile. Finally another character with a name. I wanted to name the parents too but I thought it would be too much of a hassle. Especially if the character doesn't even last that long. Robert and March finished their breakfast. March asked Robert to rest while March washes the dishes. Robert went to the room and lay down for a nap. March slowly moved his gaze from Robert and started to wash the dishes thinking about having a real human being around him in his house after such a long time. A new sense of excitement and euphoria started rushing through his body with the very thought of a real man standing in front of him. Curiosity about the outside world started rising inside of him as he wanted to learn more d more about this man who names himself Robert. How would you feel if you were completely isolated from the outside world and you have never met anyone else except your parents? What would be your reaction to seeing another human being for the first time?? March went to the room and told Robert to take some medicine for his fever. He brought a cup of water and gave it to Robert. March kept staring at Robert with his doe eyes of curiosity, which Robert noticed. " Why are you staring at me like that?" he asked. Well, you are a stranger in my house. I only know your name till now. You are completely messed up with bruises all over your body. Why do you think he is staring at you? But this was not the reason March was staring at him. The only reason was his curiosity and the fascination that he had with meeting someone else like him for the very first time. March raised a question, " Who are you? What are you? How did you end up here? Where are you from?" Silence covers the room again. With no signs of speaking Robert just blatantly ignores March's question and just covers himself with the blanket. With dismay, March just backs off and leaves the room. An hour passed March went in to check on Robert. He was still asleep. March placed his hand on his forehead to check his fever and left. Two hours passed March again went in to check on Robert, now wide awake lying in the bed. "Are you awake?"March asked. I mean his eyes are wide open so what do you think, is he awake? Robert nodded in approval. March asked if he needed painkillers. "No" Robert responded. Both stared at each other waiting for someone to speak up. Imagine how awkward it would be. Two random strangers just staring at each other. As an introvert myself I would have had a panic attack. . . . . •||•√√ Not knowing what to do March just decides to leave the room and proceeds to go toward the door. "Stop" Robert finally speaks up. " Stay," he said by pointing beside the space in the bed. March turned around and sat beside him. And looked toward Robert with the same eyes he had had a while ago. Robert finally letting his breath out said " I can't tell you who I am nor how I ended up here and I have already told you everything that I could tell you about me." March with a sudden high-pitched voice asked, " How old are you?" Robert chuckled hearing March and replied "20. I am 20. You?" March with embarrassment replied " 17." I don't know why but while writing this scene it reminded me of a similar scene in twilight when you know Bella and Edward go to the forest and talk about this. If you have seen it that is. March suddenly stood up and started heading out. " Where are you going? Are you angry ?" Robert asked. " Aren't you hungry? I will make something for you. Do you want to eat anything?" March replied with a smile on his face. What is this boy? Like dude he is a complete stranger who could literally be a murderer or some sort of criminal running from police or something you know. Like what is you doing? Moving on. Robert stood up as well and offered to help March and Both of them went towards the kitchen. March and Robert continued to live together with the same routine every day. They wake up, cook, eat, sleep, watch some tv and sleep and do it all over again. Three days passed like nothing ever happened. March woke up around 10 am and was surprised to see that Robert was already awake and he was cooking breakfast. March walked near and asked him " What are you cooking?" " Some noodles. You like them right?" Robert replied. March nodded with a smile. Robert with a little reluctance asked " So tell me about yourself. How did you end up here? You know why are you in the middle of nowhere?" With a little bit of uncertainty, March began to tell Robert about his life. Oh my God. Don't tell me he is about to narrate his entire life to a stranger..••||••. March told Robert about everything that happened in the past. Everything including the stories of his birth that his parents told him and all the mishappenings in his family. From his father's death to his mother's. And how he was all alone in this world. Dumb. Yes absolutely tell a random stranger that you are alone and no one knows about your existence. Amazing..@||@~~ Tears gush up through his cheeks as he talks about the death of his parents. March stands up and brings the note his mother left him and shows it to Robert. Oh my God, why don't you just give him your bank account number, every password, and contracts to your entire life....•√√•••••••• " When I read this I was completely shocked. Why? That was the only thing that kept running in my mind while reading it. My mom kept apologizing throughout the letter. She said I am sorry for everything that I have put you through and everything I am going to put you through after my death. I am sorry but I don't know how I can continue to live anymore. You are the reason that I was alive for so many years. You were my happiness. But the guilt of the past is too strong for me to forget everything. I hope you forgive me. I am sorry. " I thought she was asking for forgiveness because she was leaving me alone in this world. That she was abandoning me. That she was saying sorry for her decision. But the more I read the more I understood what forgiveness was for. Suddenly everything became clear. All the memories of the past became clear. Every blurred face became clear with the last sorry my mother left me in the note. "Robert said with tears rolling down his eyes. " Sorry I killed your father." I remember it very clearly now. It was my 7 th birthday. My parents were preparing for it as they do every single year. Mom was baking me a cake. Dad was cooking dinner on the side and I was watching POKEMON on the tv. I remember it being as happy as it ever could be. Me waiting for my cake to be baked and looking at the gifts that my parents bought for me with extreme happiness and curiosity. How I kept gazing at the gifts and guessing what was inside. The atmosphere was filled with happiness or so I thought. An hour later everything came tumbling apart. I went to the kitchen in the hopes of tasting my cake with full excitement only to see someone on top of my father stabbing him multiple times with the knife. The blood dripping on the floor as the killer repeatedly stabbed his dead body made me freeze and tears started to drip off my face. The killer didn't stop at all. The killer kept stabbing and stabbing and stabbing the dead body. And finally, I saw her face. I saw my mom with the knife covered with my dad's blood. I saw her eyes that were full of tears and shame. Then I fainted. "After I woke up I couldn't remember anything at all. All I could remember was my dad's dead body dripping with blood. My brain had completely blurred the killer's face perhaps because I couldn't believe what had happened in front of me. I couldn't believe that my mom would ever do such a thing. I couldn't believe that my happy family didn't exist anymore or worse that it never existed in the first place. But all those moments, were those just illusions. No it can't be. So what happened? What changed so much that my mom killed my father? Guess I will never find out." March said wiping his tears off his face. He tried to give a smile to Robert but all his sadness were pouring down his eyes. He must have piled up so much. I mean he didn't really have anyone to talk to. You should let out your emotions. The more you hide the more it will keep eating you inside. I guess it is somewhat good to let everything out to someone. Even though he is a complete stranger. Robert approached March and hugged him. He kept saying sorry and assured March that everything is alright and everything will be completely fine.
