I shifted in the uncomfortable mattress, I couldn't sleep. Who can?
"This mattress must be like 100 years old." I thought as I winced while trying to sit up. "I really need these bruises to heal otherwise it's just another weak spot for him to strike."
The sun was setting, I shivered. I know I had to get out there. Is it dangerous? abso-freaking lutely, could I die? yes, however, do i have a choice? No, I had to do this, this is the only way I could find that monster. I put on my torn jacket, looking at the holes, I sighed. Things don't get much better do they?
Saying a quick prayer I stepped into the world of darkness, pain and hell. I was on high alert, hiding in the shadows. I walked swiftly but quietly.
"North then east." I murmured to myself. That's where he was last time I saw him. Been tracking him for almost a year now. The monster is powerful and merciless however stupid. I'm glad he is stupid if he didn't follow his pattern I would never be able to watch, find out his weakness.
I made a sharp right turn and saw an opening.
"Crap." I mumbled running to the shadiest area hiding behind a bunch of dumpsters and trees. As on cue, his highness shows up and of course as always a poor beaten up human in each hand. The poor fellas began begging, they always do. I watch- that's what I've been doing for a year. Honestly, in the beginning, I threw up after seeing what he did to those people- now I just watch with no emotion. The monster held the guy's by their necks- they hit and fling their legs but it is no use, the monster doesn't even flinch just squeezes harder, causing the guys to cough and start suffocating. I know what happens next, it's always the same. He throws one of the guys on the floor and as per usual the scramble trying to save themselves leaving their friend - I assume behind while their friend screams which usually doesn't last long as the monster usually offs them after watching the poor fella be betrayed by his own. He really is a sadist I thought. Of course after ripping open the guy's throat and drinking him dry he goes after the guy, who usually isn't too far away. He always catches them. In this whole year, no one has ever escaped him- making me motivated. I will be that one, the one who tears out his heart.
Guess that's it for today I thought. Slowly getting up out of my hiding spot something appeared causing me to crouch back down, my heart raced up. This is different, not good, not good at all I thought. The monster was back with the guy who ran away - he was alive?
Questions raced through my brain, he never lets them live. He threw the guy on the floor hard- causing a pained grunt to come from the poor guy.
"Where are they?" The monster coldly asked.
The guy whimpering weakly answered- "not far from where you found us."
"What a jerk. He deserves to die. He gave away the group's hiding place to what? Save yourself. Ha as if he'll let you live." I exhaled, rage filled me. This is what you get for trusting people, hence why I act alone.
"Please- please let me and my daughter live now." he whimpered some more.
The monster threw his head back in laughter. "You imbecile, she will be the first to go."
"no- nononono ple-" The monster wanted to hear no more so he stepped on the guy's head. That was one loud crack,I whimpered. He definitely dead.
"Now to chase the little mice." He smirked, the moonlight shining on his terrifying face. This is the first time I saw him clearly. Blood red eyes, a scar running from his left eyebrow across his nose to his right cheek. His fangs long and bloody. I shivered, he was truly a monster. Within the second he disappeared leaving with a single sound a whoosh.
The monster will find them tomorrow, he fed tonight and tomorrow he'll be back for more. Not just to feed but feed his psychopathic side. I had followed him enough to know where he found those men, I need to find that group of people.
