Shortly before mid-day, he arrived at the small port of Kirra. He knew there were trading ships that called there as part of their journey around the coastal towns of the Great Sea. He also knew that many of these ships would accept one or two paying passengers to supplement their income. This was his quickest way to Korinthos. There were only two boats in the harbour, the small, tubby crafts that were used for coasting, each being prepared for sea.
