I couldn't keep my eyes off the tip of that gleaming arrowhead as it neared Cody's immediate presence. I wanted to wince away, knowing I would watch his life end, but I couldn't break my stare.
Which is the only way I was able to see the plain, normal, ordinary wooden arrow hit it from a perpendicular angle, and knock it from its original course with one powerful punch. Exploding on impact in a beautiful firework of splintered wood.
If I had blinked...I would have missed it.
