What lurks in the Woods

                                                                                 Two Years Before    " Happy Birthday to you Happy Birth-" I spring out of bed having a mini heart attack with my parents singing Happy Birthday to me. "Why are you guys trying to kill me", I say out of breath.     " Oh honey we were just singing Happy Birthday to you" , my mom giggles and looks at my dad.    " Well me and your mother have to get to work early so breakfast is on the stove and we will se you when you get home", my dad says walking out my room holding my moms hand, "We love you  Kamrin and have a great day at school", they both say as they walked out the front door. Both of my parents work at the hospital my mom is Anesthesiologist and my dad is a  neurosurgeon so they both work late shifts so I hardly get to see them. If I would have known that was the last time I wasn't gonna see them I would have made them stay home....     I get dressed in some black skinny jeans a white tank top and my leather jacket my hair I naturally straight so I don't have to flat iron it. I go to my white vanity and put on some mascara  my peachy colored skin is so clear and nice I don't need to put on any foundation. I grab my pink high-top Chuck Taylors  to match my bright pink hair and put them on and grab my book bag and got eat breakfast. My mom and dad made me scrambled eggs, cheesy grits, and bacon. As I'm eating breakfast I send out my streaks on snapchat and answer a lot of texts from my friends wishing me Happy Birthday. I take a selfie with my breakfast and hashtag it #Birthday breakfast. When I finished breakfast I put my dishes in the sink and walked out my front door. I get in my yellow jeep and drive to school with my radio blaring and I'm singing literally every song that comes on, every time I stop at a red light some old person is looking at me like I'm crazy so I just stare right back at her I mean I know I sing bad but I don't need a bunch of old hags staring me down for it.       I pull up to my high school called Perry High School its like  campus almost it has about  four buildings and two of them have two floors. I head to my locker and grab what I need for my first four classes. I hate school. All I hear is everyone talking about this party some guy named Caleb is throwing this weekend I didn't go to party's I never hangout in a group I prefer to stay by myself less drama that way. *BAM* I literally jump 4 feet in the air and have to lean on my locker for air all I hear is laughter from one of the few stragglers that I hang with named Emily, "so are you coming to the party this weekend" , Emily wiggles her eyebrows at me.     "Are you crazy! no I'm not going to that party I never go to party's you know that", I whine and look at Emil while we head to homeroom together.      "C'mon its your birthday you need to celebrate! Come to the party please," Emily begs me with a puppy dog face.      " Fine but your buying and picking my outfit".       "Deal", she smiles and we walk to our seats.       Five minutes before the bell ring we hear a loud crash like metal breaking on metal them BOOM. Then my mom calls me, " Honey me and your father need you to go home right now get in your jeep park it in the garage lock all the doors and grab boards and nails from the garage and board up all the windows in the house and don't answer the door for no one. Okay?"     "Okay mom, but mom what's going on?"     "Don't ask questions get home NOW!'' my mom yells over the phone, "remember Kamrin me and your father love you very much." Then the line goes silent.      I run out of the school to my jeep, the whole parking lot was going crazy people were running every where. I get in my jeep and start it and drive when I'm about five minutes away from the school I see a huge plane on fire that crashed into the mall . Fear started rising up in me.      I had a thought I drove to Walmart I park and se Walmart parking lot is in a disaster  I get out my jeep and run inside the store and grab the biggest buggy I see. I get inside and everyone is also going crazy.  I run to the canned food isle and get all the canned food I can get because I feel like its about to be the end of the world. I then run to the cereal isle and get all the cereal I can. then I get water and canned sodas I fill the buggy up. then I head to my last spot before checking out I head to the pharmacy and get all the types of medicine I ca get and run to check out. when I get to the front I don't see any workers anywhere then I hear *BOOM* and I decided I wasn't going to wait I get to the parking lot and everyone was frantic people beating each other up and people running out of Walmart with filled up buggies. I run to my jeep and throw everything in it and push the buggy away.     I speed home and do exactly what my parents in structed. I board up every window in the house no light shined through the windows I boarded them up so tight I then board up the back door because my parent will come through the front door right? god I hope they do. Then when the house is secure I go in the garage and unpack my jeep as fast as I can putting everything up. I start grabbing five gallon buckets that were clean and went to the bathroom and filled them up with water. As soon as I finish I sit-down and try to call my mom..... no answer then I call my dad...… no answer. I frantically look for the tv remote and when I find it I turn the tv on to the news,.       There has been a strange out break started it affects the peoples minds making them have a fever then they die. After a few minutes they come back alive and start attacking and eating people. People are advised to stay away from hospitals because those are the hotspots for the undead. People are also Advised to stay indoors and board up your windows and lock all your doors." The news caster said. Then a video footage shows my moms and dads hospital people are getting attacked even the military is shooting at people. I start crying and praying my parents are ok I turn the tv off and curl up in a ball and cry some more before I knew it I fell asleep.
