We are a town, where people live forever. My parents are over a thousand years old, but they look like they are In their early thirties. I, Abigail Reynolds, is a 20 year old , immortal being that has more than a thousand years to live in the world. Most atimes, I wish we could just die like other normal human being. Most people find immorality as a blessing, but nevertheless, I see it like a curse. Who in his right senses would wish to live forever?. We might be a town full of immortal beings, we still go on with our normal duties. I attend Bristol highschool, while my parents own their own one of the best bakery in town. My life is loving, but more or less complicated. " Abigail, shouldn't you be getting dressed for school?". My mom, Mrs Edwina, interrogated me in the presence of her husband, Mr Lawrence, my dad. Dad doesn't say anything to me, and just casually continues reading the newspaper.. " Don't worry, I won't be late". I sat down at the breakfast table, and dabbled for my breakfast to be served. Mom does all the necessary house chores and cooking in the house, I am just enjoying the privileges that comes with it. After breakfast, I went upstairs to my bedroom, changed and waited for Alisha to pick me up, with her new and expensive car... She got her parents to get her a new ride for her birthday. And as much as I would've loved to get myself one, I should at least know how to ride a car.. I'll be 21 years old in five weeks.. Alisha drove to the house with gee new car, and I got in , sitting comfortably at the front. " Good morning, Abigail, ". " How was your night?". She put on the air-conditioning in her car, and then short me a smile.. " My night was good, the usual". I responded. " Nice! And what about mom and dad?". She informally addressed my parents. " They're fine, how's yours?". I asked her back. And she nodded her head, smiled and then drives the car unto the busy road.. We passed by my neighbours house, Mr Daniel, he saw us driving and warmly waved at us. And also, he has a 23 year old boy, handsome, and literally every girls dreams. Excluding myself! We reached school before the assembly, everyone that had arrived, where told to attend the school assembly, before the other students arrives.. Alisha and I was seated next to each other on the bench across the front chair. The teachers were neatly arranged in a straight line, while we waited for the principal's arriving at the assembly. " What's the sudden announcement going to be?". Seated next to Alisha, she turns and asked me.. "I don't know, maybe the school dance?". I replied. " The school dance?". She frowned.. " That's a month away". She said.. Soon after, principal Coleman walked into the assembly, full of thousands of kids. I turned eerily at her counterance, her unconventional smile, ana rigid attitude, was all I needed to know, something was wrong.. " Good morning, students!". She spoke through the microphone, turning her head back and forth. " Good morning, ma'am" We all replied together. Our thunderous voices, echoed around the school walls, causing everyone to look above their heads in fright. " It has come to our attention that.... " She stepped down from the podium, " some of you students are going to the vetam's caves?". She paused, looking at our faces. Uproar in the assembly as everyone turned and looked at each other. " Vetam's caves?". I ogled at Alisha.. " What, I haven't gone there for one week". She leaned closer to my ears and whispered. " Hmm! And why?". I shifted her chair back.. As she replied, " I'm having a fight with James". "James? Do you mean your boyfriend?" I casually asked again. "Yes! Who else would I be talking about?". She turned and pointed at the corner, he sat with his friends.. "Okay,". My eyes and James met for a brief moment.. He has always been awkwardly acting strange toward me, perhaps something happened, I just can't prove what exactly?.. After the assembly, everyone went to their various classes. Before the assembly came to an end, principal Coleman had instructed us to stay clear from those caves. I don't go near them, but I wouldn't want to vouch for anyone else other than myself, not even for my friend.. Alisha can be obedient, but she's stubborn and willing to do whatever she likes, not minding the consequences.. In class, Mr Kent brought in faded plants and he telepathically placed them on our desks . We all stared horrified yet confused at his method of teaching. What are we supposed to do with a faded plant's that is already dead?.. "Mr Kent...." Nora, the schools Princess, raised her hand . "Yes, dear?". Mr Kent turns and gives her a smile . "What's with all these?" " What do we do this ?" . She plucked one of the leaves from her plant.. Silence filled the classroom, anxiously waiting for mr. Kent's response. He walked to his table, and placed the last plant on it. Everyone was still waiting on him, maybe an instruction to go about bringing the dead plant to life... " Guys! Do you know what we are?". After the awkward silence, he turns around and faced us. " No!". We all replied. All except Nora again.. " We are immortals". She was the only one that answered.. The man nodded his head, smiled and then went on with his teachings. "I'd like for all of you to give life to the planets". He said.. "Give Life?". How?". Nora, once again asked. She seemed to be in sync with the teacher.. " It's simple...." Mr Kent smiled.. " All of you have to do, is to channels your powers to the plant, and bring them to life ". He said, putting on a hopeful look . Everyone then began to try, Alisha touched her plants and immediately, the entire leaves evaporated. What went wrong? The expression on her face became troubled. I watched how everyone in class tried to bring their plants to life, I was seated close to Nora, and watched how she effortlessly brought hers to life, by whispering strange things to the plant.. The entire classroom seemed busy, and after looming around, I sat up and decided to do as Nora had done. I whispered good stuffs to my plants, only to have it remain the same. There wasn't any changes with the appearance.. " Try again!". Mr Kent said to me. I let out a claiming whiff and with an empty mind, I felt power passing out from me, and was entering the plant. I opened my eyes and saw that the plants had come back to life. It was just myself and and Nora, that actually brought their plants back to life..
