Sunrise/Sunset

I recieved several photos during the day of Shadow being spoiled rotten, every pic was of him with a different person and they were more often than not feeding him something or the other. The usual suspects included little Brad and Luna Christie, in one such photo she was handing him a ham bone. I shook my head, my boy was enjoying pack life, Ted said Alpha Thomas asked if I would allow him on a pack run tonight, I said of course, just because I couldn't didn't mean I'd deny Shadow his chance.

I've been working steadily for the last 5 hours, we keep having to bake more Delights, the pack members had heard Alpha Thomas and Rick talking about them and ordering them like crazy and they keep flying out the door, I'm going to have to look into making some for the pack before I leave for work or the night before. I had just put a few batches in the oven when the bell above the door sounded and I waited to see if an order came in, " Leeeeeeeeetttiiiiiiiiii " I froze and whispered " no! It can't be " the voice I was hearing was unwelcomed and I really hope I was wrong about who it belonged to. LETTI! Bring your sweet ass out here " I closed my eyes tightly willing him to go and never return, I thought he was in jail. " Letti.....you know I can smell you right? Your lovely scent hasn't changed all this time I've been away ". I release a breath I didn't even know I was holding and walked out into the seating area, behind the counter of course, " what are you doing here Trent, please go " right about now is the time I wish I could mind link Ted or Alpha Thomas. I sighed as he walked closer to the counter, while I backed up, I had no doubt he would try to grab me, " Trent why are you here, you're supposed to stay away from me " he chuckled " I have paid my debt to society Letti, I'm a free man and you'd have to get a new restraining order against me " I lowered my head " s**t! ".

Trent Phips is a damn nuisance, we had attended the same high school and he was part of a neighboring pack, he had started bullying me in the last year of high school, of course by then it was discovered I had no wolf and my pack members didn't help me fend him off unless he got too violent. He had developed a kind of obsession with me and even when I had started working at the Sunrise Diner and my parents kicked me out, he would come there everyday after school, sit in my section and make me miserable. Mrs Lee had called the cops on him more than once but all they could do was warn him and tell him to leave me alone, he hadn't technically committed any crime. He started off small, doing childish s**t, tripping me as I passed, pulling my hair as I always kept it long, grabbing my hand and yanking me down on his lap stupid s**t like that. One day as I got off of work Trent had followed me home, I had barely just seen him running toward me as I turned to close my door and closed it quickly, locking him out. He stood outside my house the rest of the night screaming my name and banging on my doors and windows. Come to think of it Ted and Rick had been passing by on patrol and ran him off, he came back every night after that. I had to make a formal complaint to Alpha Thomas who in turn made a complaint with the Alpha of Trent's pack. He was ordered by his Alpha to stay away from my residence and work place. You would think that would do it wouldn't you....but no, Trent had found a loophole in his Alpha's order. He figured out he only had to stay away from the diner and my house, his Alpha had never told him to stay away from me and he could go anywhere he pleased between my work and my home. So everyday trent waited for me to finish working and accosted me as I walked home, he'd slap me on the ass, hug me to him, he'd even shift and nip at my ankles and fingers. I had asked the police in town to start accompanying me home and because they couldn't go beyond our borders, a pack warrior would accompany me from the border to my house thanks to Alpha Thomas. Trent was relentless, morning noon and night he harassed me, one night as I was leaving a late shift at the bar, the officer called to tell me they had an emergency and no one was available to escort me, I called to make sure there was a warrior waiting for me at the border and took off running for home, about three quarters of the way home I was tackled to the ground from the left and sprawled in the middle of the road on my face, when I put out my arms to push myself off the ground, someone slammed their feet on my lower back pinning me to the ground. I turned my head and awkwardly looked up at Trent, smiling at me with an evil glint in his eye. I begged him to leave me alone, he dragged me up by my hand and pulled me into the woods off the road. He pressed my back into a tree and buried his face in my neck " you smell amazing for a b***h with no wolf Letti, but I am wondering if you taste as good as you smell " He licked my neck and I yelped, " Trent stop this, you know I'm not your mate, just leave me be....PLEASE! ". I never figured out who it was that attacked Trent and pulled him away from me, they both shifted and fought disappearing further into the woods, I ran the rest of the way and told the pack warrior waiting for me what happened, his eyes glazed over and he told me to go straight to the pack house and wait in Alpha Thomas's office. They caught Trent and between my pack's Alpha and his they decided he would be imprisoned away from both packs and he was banished from his. I wonder what the hell he was doing back here and for that matter how was he able to be in the diner. " Trent weren't you given an Alpha's order to stay away from here " he laughed " the old bastard was challenged and beaten recently, with his death his order expired " I shuddered " who's your pack's new Alpha? " He smiled broadly " ME! "

I almost passed out, my knees got weak, I staggered forward and I held on the the counter to steady myself, Trent grabbed the opportunity and in a flash he sped forward, grabbing my hand and dragging me over the counter " dammit Trent put me down " I struggled but it was useless, he was now an Alpha, there was no way I was breaking out of his grasp. The only saving grace was I have no wolf so he can't compel me to do what he wanted. The fry cook and other waitress I was working with came out of the kitchen to see what was going on, I asked them not interfere as he was much stronger and faster, plus he has a mean streak. I tried to pull away from Trent to no avail, he leaned down and smelt me again " hmmmm ginger " I rolled my eyes, I wonder what I smell like to Ted, this is an odd time to be having this particular thought. He kissed my neck, " Letti, you know now that I'm an Alpha I need a Luna and you know I'd make you my Luna in a heartbeat.....well at least until I find my mate that is " I move my head away from him " I've found my mate Trent " he let me go and spun me around to face him " WHAT! WHO! " I trembled " a guy from my pack " he growled " no matter, you're not marked and you have no wolf so the mating could be seen as one sided " I sighed " I don't want to be your Luna Trent, I love my mate ". He scoffed " love.....where was this love when you were at school or when you lived outside of the pack, practically an outcast huh?! " I dropped my head " I wanted to live alone that was my choice, plus he wasnt at school when I came of age " he nodded " so he's older " I clamped my hand over my mouth " what's his name Letti, all I have to do is kill him before he marks you " I gasped " NO!, don't you dare, I'll never love you Trent, I'll fight you until I die " He grabbed my hand again and three loud growls rumbled through the diner, almost causing the earth to shake " GET YOUR FILTHY PAWS OFF MY MATE " I looked towards the door and saw Ted Snr, Alpha Rick and my mate glowering at Trent, he released my hand and I flew into Ted's arms. " You ok baby? " I hugged him " I am now that you're here " Senior and Rick were still on the defensive, Trent was looking at Ted strangely " hey you....mate, don't I know you " Ted didn't answer he was still trying to calm himself down by smelling my neck " baby I'm going to have to give you another bath when we get home, you reek of Phips stench " I look up at him " you know him? " I asked " the night he was arrested for attacking you, it was me who fought with him, remember I told you I followed you home from the time you started working there " I gripped his hand " you saved me that night? Why have you never said anything? " he shrugged " remember I was being an asshole back then " I giggled and he kissed my forehead. Trent rolled his eyes and stepped forward " I Alpha Trent Phips of the Midnight Moon pack, hereby challenge you.....uh what's your name mate " Ted steps forward " Ted Levi " Trent continued " right..... hereby challenge you Ted Levi of the Sunset Moon pack for the right to mate Leticia Summers, do you accept? " Ted looked at his father and Rick, their eyes glazed over, he looked down at me. I was begging him with my eyes to not accept it, Trent was an Alpha now. Ted came down to my eyeline as I was much shorter than he is " baby I have to, I can't not fight for the right to mate you, you're mine. If I wasn't an ass you would have already been marked and mated " I'm partially responsible for this and I'll be damned if I let this deviant come and think he can take you away from me " " I love you Letti, let me fight for you " I nodded and kissed him deeply " Trent stepped forward " Hey! none of that until after the fight is over " Ted put me behind his back " I Theodor Levi of the Sunset Moon pack hereby accept your challenge for the right to mate Leticia Summers ", " now challenge for a mate rules state that I cannot mate or mark her until the fight is over, but there's nothing stopping me from kissing her into oblivion and going home with her at night " and with that Ted lifts me up wrapped my legs around his waist, grabs my hair and kisses me until I no longer care that we aren't alone here. Trent storms out of the diner yelling to Ted that he will await his word about time and place. I looked at Ted with tears threatening to escape my eyes, I feel hopeless, my hatred for Trent has been multiplied tenfold, how dare he, I had only just discovered who my mate is and he came and messed it all up. My happiness is always just within my grasp, only to be snatched away from me. I call and ask the young lady we just hired if she could come finish out my shift before she starts hers at the bar, I don't want to be here anymore. I ask Ted to take me home, to his room at the pack house, I missed Shadow and I want to spend as much time with Ted as I could before this damn challenge. We all piled into the truck and I played my head on Ted's shoulder crying softly, Rick was driving us back home and Ted senior was talking strategy with Ted. Trent had just become an Alpha, senior said the Alpha of Midnight Moon was old and had no children, his mate was dead so he was weak, Trent didn't win his fight with him because he was strong or had fighting skill, he preyed on a weak old man. When we arrived at the pack house, Ted asked me to go wait in his room for him, I got directions and walked upstairs, using the key he gave me I entered his room, it was huge, my whole house could fit in twice! I sat on the couch in the den area and flipped through the channels, finding nothing worthwhile to watch, I decided I would shower and cook a little dinner for Ted and I until he came back from talking to Alpha Thomas about the challenge. I went into Ted's bathroom looking around in awe, there was a large shower stall with two shower heads, one detachable, the tub was big enough to hold four people and had jets, there was a double sink vanity and cupboards containing fresh towels and linens. I stripped and stepped into the shower, I used Ted's soap as there was nothing here belonging to me.....yet. I got out of the shower and towel dried my hair and body, it's only then that I realized I had no clothes or underwear here and I didn't want to put on the ones I worked in after that nice clean shower. I walked out and into the closet I passed on my way into the bathroom and found a T shirt of Ted's, I put it on and went into his kitchen to see what I could find to make dinner with.

I rifled through Ted's fridge and cupboards and found all the fixings for homemade burgers, I baked garlic bread and some Delights for dessert and threw together a quick potato salad, I heard the door open and I figured it was Ted coming back from his meeting, I started walking towards the door " hey I made burgers and your favorite dessert " I looked up and into the eyes of my parents, after I got over the initial shock I cleared my throat " Ted isn't here would you like to leave a message for him? " I asked them while I finished up dinner, my father cleared his throat " we actually wanted to speak to you " without looking up I said " No " I heard my mother gasp and my father said " what did you say? " I inhaled and exhaled " I said no " Roger and Marie Summers looked at each other and then back at me " but... " I put down the bun I was cutting and looked both of them in their eye " I have nothing to say to you and I don't want to hear anything you think you have to say to me " I inhaled again and cut into another burger bun, " but Leticia we're your parents " I blurted out a sharp laugh " parents " I snickered and cut another bun. Shadow came bounding into the room he ran over to me and sniffed my hand, I giggled " you greedy boy, I know the whole pack has been feeding you all day, you'll soon be as big as a house " he yipped and ran back over to Ted who was standing in the doorway " Mr and Mrs summers, how can I help you? " they turned to speak to Ted " Beta we had come over to peacefully talk to Leticia and she's refusing to speak to us " Ted looked over at me and I nodded no. He sighed deeply " my apologies sir....ma'am but if she doesn't want to speak to the people who kicked her out of their house and lives like she meant nothing to them I can't help you, now please if you wouldnt mind leaving my room, my mate made what looks like a delicious dinner " they walked out of the door " goodnight Beta...Leticia " Ted closed the door behind them and walked over to me, he picked me up, " you smell amazing, my scent is all over you, I love it! " I giggled " damn possessive wolves " he put me down " are you wearing my shirt? " I nodded " did you use my soap? " i nodded some more " Letti.....are you naked under that shirt? " I smiled " uh huh " Ted whimpered and a deep gravelly voice said " you're playing with fire mate, and if it weren't for that dumb ass challenging us, I would take you right now on this counter top " Hayden was very aroused, " hey Hayden, how have you been? " he snorted " horny....you? " I closed my eyes and bit the inside of my cheek, " would you be willing to teach me how to satisfy you without s*x, until you kick Trent's ass? ". Hayden raised an eyebrow " I'll let Ted do that he has more will power than I do, he's hungry and quite frankly making too much noise in here, I'll let him back out now " I'll win this challenge mate, I must " then he was gone, I saw Ted's beautiful grey eyes come back into focus " ornery horny bastard " he muttered. I held his hand " come on baby, let me feed you " I took him over to the table and we sat down, we ate and talked, I brought out the Delights after we cleaned up and he was like a kid in a candy store. A loud knock came from the door " Ted, this is your father, is that Delights I smell in there? " I laughed as Ted rolled his eyes. " Theodor son, I'm prepared to break this door down and take your mate down to the pack kitchen if I have to! " I walked over and opened the door " goodnight Beta Ted, I have a little extra I was gonna save for Ted's breakfast that you can take sir ", he smiled " you're my sons mate, you can call me dad, son she's a keeper " Ted grumbled something about taking his Delights and told his dad to get out, I chuckled " Ted I'll make you some fresh ones in the morning " he smiled and grabbed my hand, lifting me over to the couch where we sat watching TV snuggled up in each others arms, I didn't even know when I fell asleep.

When my 5 30am alarm went off Ted groaned and his arms tightened around me, I giggled " Ted honey, you gotta let me get up " he buried his face in my neck " nooooo, it's too early " I wriggled around " Ted I have to peeeeee " he groaned and let me go, " I don't have to pee, I know what to say now to get you to let me go though " I blew raspberries at him and squealed when he jumped out of the bed and started chasing me. Of course he caught me, damn werewolf. He put me over his shoulder and every time I tried to get out of his grasp he spanked me across the bottom, " hey didn't you want fresh Delights this morning? " he stopped stomping and let me slide down the front of him until he was looking me in the face with his hands cupped under my bare bottom. " Hmm trying to sway me with desserts are we? " I brought my legs up and wrapped them around his waist, burying my head in his neck I kissed his neck, his collarbone and nipped at his marking spot, he moaned " I'm going to happily lose this challenge on a technicality, uuummmm Letti baby you have to stop that " I didn't stop, I came back around and rained small kisses along his jawline " let's run away together, to hell with Trent and his challenge " he chuckled " I don't know about you Leticia but I can't go rogue, the smell alone will kill me " I dropped my head back onto his shoulder and giggled " yeeeeeaaahhh can't go through life stinking like that......dammit " . I reach up and kiss his lips, " I love you Ted, I don't want you to do this challenge, if you back out you can find a chosen.. " he held my face " no! I want you, it's you or nobody, the moon goddess chose you for me and me for you. I was the i***t who delayed our mating, this challenge wouldn't be a thing if I had marked you 3 years ago when you turned 18 " I sighed and slid down his body " come on baby let's make breakfast and your delights, I have to be at work for 8am. He came into the kitchen with me and for the next half an hour we worked in silence, cooking and baking and just being a couple.
