Chapter 13It was late in the afternoon when their clothes were dry; they dressed and left the beach for the walk back to the car. While they were strolling along, Micah noticed that Don was a pace in front of him, his head bent slightly. Curious, Micah asked him a question.
“What’s on your mind, Don?”
“When I first picked you up today, I noticed that you didn’t look very excited for an aspiring actor who just had a screen test. Is everything okay?”
“You’re very observant. Trace was watching, and I don’t know if I want to accept a favor from him.”
“It’s his father, Barry Nelson, that offered you the screen test, isn’t it?” Don asked. Micah nodded.
“But I’ll bet it was at Trace’s urging.” Micah shivered, and Don wrapped his arm around him.
