Chapter 28Micah lay awake in the darkened bedroom watching Don’s chest rise and fall and studying his face, softened by the lights from outside the window. He mumbled something in a dream and shifted on his side. Thirty minutes earlier while they were in the shower after making love, Don noticed that he looked a little sad, and Don had asked him why. “If you’re wondering if I’m comparing you to Roger or holding on to his ghost, the answer is and always has been no. You’re two very different people, and I don’t want to list comparisons between past and present partners. I’m here with you and nobody else.” Micah leaned over and kissed his partner on the forehead, and then he eased himself gently out of bed.
