Chapter 3. Saved By Him

“NOOOOO!” My eyes automatically opened as I grasped for air and threw my own body in a sitting position. I shoved the quilt away from my sweating body and I wiped my forehead using the back of my right hand and unconsciously gripped my hair out of frustration. My nails are digging through the thin layer of my scalp but I can't even feel the pain. "Here they are again," I mumbled weakly, my gaze darting around the room. When I realised I wasn't in my room, my brow furrowed. I closed my eyes and pinched a small skin on my arms, hoping to wake myself up if I had been dreaming. "Ouch," I groaned, opening my eyes again. "It doesn't seem like I'm dreaming," I sighed deeply, moving my feet down the bed. I bowed my head enough to check my clothes, and a sigh of relief filled my mouth when I saw that they were still my clothes from the night before. The room is all black and grey with a vast space. The bed is in the centre of the room, giving it an elegant appearance. The ceiling is carved with a moon design that is lit up with white and yellow-led lights. I stepped onto the cold floor and dashed to the window, which was draped with a thick curtain. I yanked it to the side, but it didn't move an inch. I looked everywhere before locating the remote on top of the mini-table in front of the sofa. I eagerly grabbed it and When I pressed the button, the curtain automatically opened. My eyes rounded like a ball, causing vertigo from what I was seeing. The depth is unfathomable, taller than any building I've seen in the city. The mountain is formed by a slope of sharply shaped rocks brought together. "What am I doing here?"I questioned myself. I traced my hand across the clear glass window, admiring nature's beauty. I picked up the remote again, and my fingers trembled as I pressed the glass open. The sound almost scared me, but I calmed down. I pressed my two hands against the metal, which almost levelled into my chest. I lowered my head to see what was beneath the cliff's beauty. "Can you sense that scent?" " I heard low voices from the house, so I took a step back from the window and turned to face the door. I heard them sniffing in the air, and their footsteps were getting closer to the room I was in. I bit my lower lip and scanned the entire room for possible hiding spots. "It smells like humans," a female voice replied, and their steps came to a halt right outside my door. I quickened my pace to run in the closet. I opened the door and threw myself inside, trying to fit my entire body. I got shivers all over my body when I heard the door bang at one snap. The chill dripped down my spine from my swollen brow. "The scent is becoming stronger inside this room," said a thin female voice, different from the other woman who spoke earlier. "Do you honestly believe Dion would spare us if we barged into his room uninvited?" " The other responded with apprehension. "How could he be upset? He won't be bothered by it. After all, he doesn't want to be the next Alpha," said the woman with a thin voice. Her companion sighed loudly and began raiding the entire room. I held my breath, attempting to suppress my feelings of panic and anxiety. "What's the matter with you? If there is a human here, Dion would be grateful that we were able to keep that scumbag out of his room before he could come here. Don't worry about it, Ana," the woman reassured the other intruder. Their footsteps are unimaginably silent, to the point where I won't be able to locate them if they don't speak. "They truly are not human," was the only thought that came to mind as I prayed to all the saints I knew to spare me this lifetime. I'm not sure if I offended anyone in my previous life because I am in the worst situation of my life right now. The environment becomes silent, and my heart begins to pound violently as my instincts warn me that something is wrong. Not only was something wrong, but everything was wrong. I swallowed the lump that was forming in my throat, slowly moving my right hand to reach my arm. I pinched the little skin to jolt myself awake, convinced that everything was a bad nightmare. When I felt the pain lingering on my skin and my muscles screamed in pain, I groaned. When I thought the two women had already left, the closet door swung open wide. With horror, I let out a scream. “AHHHHHHHHHHH! Please spare me. Please don't kill me. I'm not sure what I did, but please don't hurt me." I knelt, clasping both my hands, pleading with them. I kept blathering until I felt a sharp claw dig into my scalp, lifting me out of the closet and chucking me into the glass table, destroying everything. Glasses shattered, files strewn about, and ornaments shattered into pieces. My body felt the shards of glass piercing the flesh on my back. In pain, I let out a groan and cried out. I tried to get up but failed and fell back to the ground. The glasses sunk deeply into my flesh. As I watched my hand fall into the broken vase, scratching and wounding my palm, everything seemed to move in slow motion. A thick red liquid emerges, flowing as if in a marathon. “A human is the lowest in the rank. Creatures with mortal abilities that are useless! Yeah, that's right, plead for your life and bow down your head to those superior from you HAHAHAHA! " The woman with the thinner voice laughed slyly. I lifted my head to look in their direction, but a strong wind rushed into my side, and I felt a slap on my face, causing my side to face the opposite side. “Please”, I begged, biting my lips. “Beg for your life, little rat.” The woman hissed, clasping her hand into my neck. Gripping tightly as if putting all her strength. “S-spare m-my l-life”, I hardly said as her hands tied my thin neck. “Why would I?” I felt her hands ready to take my life when they were held for a split second, a hand holding my waist carrying me away from them. The two girls were alarmed but they seemed to be glued in their position. I looked at who helped me, and my eyes didn't betray me. “Dion” “Shhhh don't speak, I'm here.” I felt a soft mattress hitting my back and I realized I was being put on the bed. “What the f**k are you waiting and standing there! ” Dion suddenly shouted, followed by a loud authoritative growl. I heard gasps from the two women and a huge thud in the ground. After a few seconds, I heard footsteps coming into the room. I desperately reached for his hand. “D-dion”, I mumbled weakly, calling him. “Get them out of here and lock them in the cell. I'll deal with them later.” He commanded seriously. I heard a couple of responses and the footsteps walked away. “Dion, the doctor is already here,” a male voice informed me. I closed my eyes and I couldn't feel my body. The numbness and pain combined made my head go berserk. “What are you staring at?!” I heard Dion shouting, followed by the shattering of glasses. A knee fell on the ground and the doctor begged. “Alpha Logan ordered me not to touch nor cure her. Please spare my life, Dion. I am only following orders.” The doctor cried for his life. I wanted to say to Dion that it's okay if I die here. I want to tell him not to oppose his father, but I can't. “YOU ARE GOING TO TEND TO HER WOUNDS NOW! OR ELSE I'LL KILL ALL YOUR BLOODLINES! CHOOSE WISELY DOCTOR DREW.” Dion angrily spatted. “WHOEVER TOUCHES HER AGAIN, EVEN A SINGLE STRIP OF HER HAIR WILL DIE! NO ONE CAN HURT MY MATE.”
