Chapter six

702 Words
A few hours later, I stirred from my slumber to find the space beside me deserted. An unsettling wave of worry washed over me, prompting me to spring upright in bed. In that moment, I collided with Jason, who stood there with a bag of food in his hands, a casual smile on his face."Hey, it's alright," he reassured me. "I just stepped out to grab us something to eat; there's no reason to be frightened." A wave of uncertainty washed over me as I pondered my feelings. I had heard stories of men who would engage with women only to abandon them after fulfilling their desires. In a moment of vulnerability, I wrapped my arms around him, sensing his surprise at my embrace. “Is everything okay?” Jason inquired, concern etched across his face."I apologize for my distress; I experienced a nightmare," I fibbed, masking the truth that my fear stemmed from the possibility of him abandoning me. He gently placed the food on the bedside table before enveloping me in his arms, cradling me softly as he pulled me into his lap."It's alright," he reassured me, his presence a comforting anchor amidst the turmoil. "I'm here now. Would you like to talk about it?" I simply shook my head, a silent refusal, and he respected my choice, choosing not to press further. Instead, he offered me some food, a gesture that felt both practical and caring. It had been a long day, and our bodies craved sustenance, especially after the events that had unfolded earlier. As memories of what had transpired began to swirl in my mind, I felt a warmth rising to my cheeks, my face flushing a deep shade of red. Jason, ever observant, noticed my reaction immediately, and it struck me then that I was still completely naked. In a sudden rush of embarrassment, I leaped up to grab my dress, eager to cover myself. "You don't need to cover up," he said with a teasing grin, "I've been inside of you, dear." In a playful response to his boldness, I snatched a pillow from the couch and hurled it at him, the tension in the air shifting slightly as laughter danced on the edges of our conversation. It was difficult for me to comprehend the words that had just escaped Jason's lips. The reality of having been intimate with him weighed heavily on my mind, especially considering that he was my superior. Despite the façade we were maintaining as a couple—an act that, in the realm of relationships, seemed entirely typical—an undeniable sense of awkwardness lingered in the air, making the entire situation feel profoundly complicated. Once more, he extended the plate of food towards me, and I found myself gravitating to the seat beside him. To my astonishment, he had chosen to bring forth burgers and fries—an unexpected selection for someone of his affluent stature. Yet, I felt no inclination to voice my surprise. "Thank you, Jason," I expressed with genuine appreciation. As I began to eat, he unexpectedly wrapped his arm around me, leaving me momentarily stunned. "Jason?" I inquired, concern lacing my voice. "Is everything alright?" He offered no response, instead resting his head gently against my shoulder. After a minute, he lifted his head and, with a hint of remorse in his eyes, apologized before turning his attention to his meal. We continued to eat in a comfortable silence, stealing furtive glances at one another from time to time, each look laden with unspoken thoughts and emotions. After we had finished our meal, he stood up and announced his intention to take a shower. He made his way into the bathroom, and I began preparing myself for bed. The day had been long and exhausting, and I felt a deep longing for rest. Choosing to sleep on the couch so that Jason could have the bed, I settled in, but as I started to drift off, I suddenly felt him lift me gently and place me on the bed. It seemed as though it was a natural instinct for him to do so, as he then lay down beside me, surrendering to the embrace of sleep.
