Chapter 12

1085 Words
After school the next day, I rushed to Sam's office in the hope of Adam being there, and I was in luck! There he was, leaning against a wall looking cute. 'Snap out of it Billy!' I pranced through the double doors but in my day dream, I walked into my brother. "I wasn't expecting to see you here today Billy, you alright?" he asked curiously. "Yes thanks. I was just wondering... could Adam give me a cleaning?" I asked, trying not to reveal anything. "Strange request from you Billy! You'll have to ask him yourself. See you later" he smiled, pinching my cheeks then walking off. Then, I approached the man himself, Adam. "Hey Adam!" "Alright buddy?" he smiled down at me. "Are you busy at all?" "Nope, why? What's up?" he asked, straightening up into good posture. "Could you give me a cleaning?" I asked casually. "Brush, clean, polish. Anything. The whole works!" "Yeah, if you want" he responded confused, then led me into one of the exam rooms. "Just take a seat then." I took a seat, not scared at all for a change. In fact, slightly excited. Adam lowered the chair then headed off to grab the utensils. I watched him like a hawk snap his gloves on, place a mask below his chin then return to me. He rolled the stool behind my head so his face was in view with mine. A beautiful view I must add! Then like Sam, he positioned the light on my mouth, then unfortunately pulled up his mask. "You ready then?" he asked. "Yes" I responded. "Please bare in mind I got my braces tightened yesterday, so they're kind of sore." "I'll try my best mate." I opened up for him, and he began brushing my teeth in delicate circles, almost like a massage. I rather enjoyed it, much better than when Sam did it. Yet, my enjoyment was interrupted by an irritating voice at the doorway. "Wow, never did I think Billy would actually ask for a cleaning" I heard my brother joke, as he walked into the room. His face came into vision, so I slit my eyes at him and frowned. "Alright, alright. I'll leave you to it" he laughed, leaving the room. Not all the joy lasted forever however. Adam then began using an explorer to pick at my gumlines, causing me to squeeze my eyes shut. "Sorry Billy, I'm just trying to get rid of this plaque" he said calmly, looking sympathetic. After a quick rinse and dry, my cleaning was sadly over. "Thanks Adam" I smiled, picking up the courage to hug him. He was so warm and soft, he even smelt amazing! What more could somebody want? I picked up my jacket and was about to head out the door, when I noticed Adam on the phone to someone. It wasn't a long call, but the final goodbye was what caught my ear. "Love you too, bye babe." "Who was that" I questioned, knowing it was none of my business. "My girlfriend" Adam responded, putting his phone away in his pocket. Girlfriend? Of course he had a girlfriend! What man who was that perfect, had beautiful features, elegant hair, a cute voice, and an amazing personality would not be in a relationship? "Oh, cool" But to that, I headed home. Where I layed in bed, crying and crying and crying. It'd been two hours since I got home. Sam would be back from work in about an hour. I needed to clean myself up so he'd never realise how I truely felt, or who I truely was. It was the fear of judgement that scared me the most. But if anything, there was one thing I was certainly clear of. I didn't just like girls. I stared into the mirror above the sink, seeing my blotchy red eyes and crimson cheeks. I looked horrible. After a quick freshen up in the shower, I dabbed myself dry and slipped on some pyjama shorts and a tank top, combing my damp hair to the side. But then the best idea popped into my head... 'I should message Lola!' I sat on the floor of my room leaning against my wardrobe, and opened up messenger where I saw Lola's profile picture. She had her lashing golden locks blowing in the wind, sunglasses perked on top of her button nose, and a smile of pure delight and beauty. She was absolutely gorgeous. I typed a message and clicked send. 'Hey' After a few seconds, I saw the signal indicating she was typing, so quickly straightened myself off and let out a cheeky smile. 'Hey Billy :)' she typed back. Smiley face! That was a good sign! We messaged for about an hour straight about general topics, getting to know each other even better. I didn't even realise Sam was downstairs until I heard him shout me for dinner. "I'll be there in a minute!" I yelled back, not wanting to talk right now. But then, I recieved a message which filled me with great happiness. 'Would you like to meet up after school tomorrow?' Without even thinking I responded with 'sure, i'll meet you at the gates' 'Great, see you tomorrow!' Yes, things weren't so bad after all! I mean, I couldn't bring myself to see Adam anymore, but at least I had a chance with a cute girl who I really liked. But I honestly had no idea what to do about the Adam situation, I had no choice at all to avoid him, it was impossible. Also, my feelings for him couldn't disappear that quickly. I heard a knock on my door, followed by Sam walking in looking confused. He saw me sitting on the floor, and frowned curiously. "I said dinner is done" he informed me. "I know" I responded, now playing a game on my phone. "You coming down then?" he asked. "I'm not really hungry" I responded, standing up and laying down on my bed. "Billy, what's wrong?" he questioned, walking further into my room. "Nothing" I answered bluntly. "Well something mu-" "I SAID NOTHING!" I yelled. I'd lost my temper. Oh no. Sam looked angry, but most of all shocked. "Fine, i'll speak to you later, when you've calmed down" he said sternly, then walking out and slamming the door behind him. I'd messed up again and I'd now have to face the charges. I just couldn't work myself out! What was happening to me?!
