Chapter 1
Hey there! My names Billy! I'm 13 years old and live with my older brother, Samuel who's 23 years old. My mother and father passed away when I was 7 years old due to a terrible car crash. Only in the last few months have Samuel and I moved into a house of our own, away from Auntie Carol.
I love my brother loads, he's basically a father to me, yet he's not. However, despite Samuel's pristine looks and kind-hearted ways, he's a dentist. And I hate the dentist.
Sam owns his own dental office 10 minutes down the road from our house. Luckily for me, every time Sam has decided to book me in for a check-up with him, i've managed to dodge it.
"I can't Sam! I have a really important test coming up that I need to revise for!"
"I can't Sam! I've got a really bad headache and feel very sick!"
"I can't Sam! I've already made other plans!"
Eventually Sam just gave up on trying to get me to the dentist, however I know he worries about my personal health.
"Billy! You haven't had a dental check-up in years, sooner or later you'll have to let me check your teeth!"
Every time I just nod and walk away until I hear his sigh and he wanders off into the opposite direction.
I wonder how long I'll be able to dodge him...

7:30 a.m.
My alarm buzzed, startling me as I awoke from my beauty sleep. I felt around trying to make contact with the button of the alarm. I succeeded and hopped out of bed.
I headed downstairs to meet the fresh smell of bacon rushing up my nostrils. Sam sure knew how to cook!
"Oh hey Billy, have a nice sleep?"
"Yeah not too bad thanks. Breakfast smells good Sam!"
"Cheers bud, here you are! So, you up for hanging out after school today?"
"You bet I am! What've you got planned?"
"I'd rather leave it a surprise!"
I laughed and began gobbling down my bacon. One thing in the world that made me the most excited overall was surprises! And from previous experiences, I could tell Sam's surprise was going to be an excellent one!
After cleaning my plate full of food, I rushed upstairs to get ready for school. Black trousers, white shirt, red jumper and blue striped tie. Ugh, school uniform, what a pain in the arse!
After getting dressed I skipped through to the bathroom to brush my teeth. Due to having a dentist for a brother, I had a highly powerful electrical toothbrush. I glared into the mirror and opened up my mouth. My teeth were very crooked and weren't the whitest they could be, but they were mine and I didn't want to change them any time soon. I didn't want a check-up; I didn't want a cleaning. And most of all, I didn't want braces!
Sam dropped me off at school just on time and I quickly rushed into class to meet my friends. I enjoyed school quite a lot. I wasn't the brightest in my year, yet I was on track with everything I needed. Not only that but I also had many friends who I could rely on and trust, well I hope that's the case.
As I rushed into my tutor class the bell rang behind me and I was just in time. Miss Galeski glared at me from behind her large triangular spectacles until I took a seat beside my best friend Kyle.
"A fist bump a day keeps the dentist away" we whispered to each other as we proceeded with our daily handshake. Unlike me, Kyle didn't have any relatives working in the dentist industry, which meant he had no need to worry about attempting to avoid the ghastly place. Kyle hadn't visited the dentist in approximately 6 years. I noticed his teeth were very straight yet extremely discoloured. But no matter.
"Billy!" I heard from a distance.
I looked around to see who had interrupted mine and Kyle's handshake.
"Billy!!" It was Miss Galeski.
"Huh?" I replied.
"Excuse me young man but i'm currently taking the register. Instead of concentrating on your childish handshake how about paying more attention to me?"
I heard giggles begin to fill the classroom.
"Yes miss, sorry miss."
