The next morning I woke up to the sound of my digital alarm beeping in my ear. Hurriedly, I switched it off and hopped out of bed, rubbing my eyes to try and wake myself up. I took a very quick shower, got changed into my school uniform, then headed downstairs for some breakfast. Sam was already sitting at the breakfast bar, gnawing on a slice of toast.
"Morning bud" he said enthusiastically, smiling warmly. He was already dressed in a shirt and tie with his hair done. "Sleep well?" he asked.
"Yeah" I replied, still half asleep.
I poured myself a bowl of coco puffs cereal, added some milk, then joined Sam.
