Over the next week, I waited in quiet anticipation for Friday night to roll around. Unfortunately, my mother and Dennis weren’t going away, so I wasn’t sure if she’d be at her house or Dennis’s over the weekend. I tried to casually bring up the subject while having dinner Wednesday night.
“So, what are your weekend plans?” I asked. “Are you going to Dennis’s?”
“Probably,” she said. “Why? Did you want to do something?”
“No. I was just wondering what your plans were.”
“What are you doing this weekend?”
