Chapter 6

　　Audrey Pov

　　I slowly opened my eyes, though my vision was still blurry, the last thing I remembered was Lucius in my room trying to take me away. I slowly looked around and noticed I was still in the hospital, I felt a have holding mine and without hesitating I started screaming.

　　“Go away from me Lucius, go away!” This attracted the attention of the nurses and my dad, everyone rushed to my ward trying to calm me down, I was yet to see clearly but j had a feeling it was Lucius so I didn't stop.

　　As I was removing the drip needles my vision was slowly coming back, a closed my eyes several times and opened it back struggling to see if it was really not Lucius, after some minutes I could finally see clearly.

　　I stopped the ruckus when I noticed it was really not Lucius.

　　“Who are you?” I asked calmly feeling embarrassed for creating such a sin without getting my facts right. The young man looked very handsome and with good body but I found sense sadness from him, his eyes were too sad.

　　I slowly sat back on the bed while the doctor left my dad and I with the strange man.

　　“Audrey,” My dad called out and gave me a warm hug, from his hug I can tell he missed me. I'm the only family member he has in this world, ever since my mother left us he's been really sad my existence is the only thing that keeps him happy.

　　“Dad, I'm sorry I made you worry.” I apologized while we're hugging.

　　“It's fine my dear, what matters now us that you're okay.” My dad said to me almost in a whisper and patted my head. I sighted the young man sitting and released myself from my fathers grip.

　　“Dad, who is he?” I asked calmly while pointing at the young man. My dad turned to look at him, this made me realize the young man must be a good friend of my dad, but looking at the way he's dressed he must be a very rich man.

　　“You have been unconscious for quite a while so you must have forgotten him. He is your mate.” I was shocked to hear what my dad said, because the last mate I remember is Lucius.

　　“H-ow is that possible dad.” I asked my dad after struggling for a while to get a good out of my mouth.

　　The young man didn't try to move closer to me after the sin I made in front of everyone so I thought it was right for me to apologize but I need to know his intention before making any stupid decision.

　　“Audrey, you must be tired that's why you're talking like this, we'll talk when you feel better.” Hearing my dad say such a thing made he feel bad because he sounded like I was crazy.

　　“Dad, I'm fine, I know what I'm talking about.” I replied my dad angrily because his words hurt me a lot.

　　“Lucius was clearly my mate, as long as I can remember.” my dad looked shocked upon hearing what I said, obviously he would be, because I didn't tell him about it.

　　“You rejected him.” I turned to look at the young man that talked. He finally said something so he wasn't angry after all.

　　He stood up and slowly walked up to me, he was such a gentleman but I still can't believe he's my mate.

　　“I'm your second chance mate, and I thank the goddess you accepted me.” This was too much already, how and when did I accept him. He sat beside me and rubbed my palms lovingly.

　　“You have nothing to worry about when you're with me.” He sounded so calm and loving, even if I wanted to shout I will only be seen as crazy cos there was no reason to throw a first after such sweet words from him.

　　“But I don't…”

　　“Shhh, you need to rest now and tomorrow we'll leave for my pack.” I raised my head to look at him as he slowly laid my head on the bed. It was dark already so I guessed he would also be spending the night in the hospital.

　　“Dad….”

　　“Shhh, you heard him, go to bed now.” I can't believe my dad is making me follow this man’s order. We don't even know his real intentions. I tried to believe not all men will be like Lucius but its hard to make such conclusion, but Lucius is definitely not human he's a demon.

　　I tried not to think too much about him because it'll only hurt me and make me want to do something terrible to him. I tried to close my eye but the moment I close my eye the image I see in front of me is Lucius and his evil smile.

　　I could not take it anymore, but a I stood up from the hospital bed, wore my slippers and decided to take a walk and get some night fresh air though u don't know if its acceptable in the hospital.

　　“Why are you not sleeping yet?” A voice asked, I could be recognize the voice but I know I've heard the same voice somewhere before. I turned back and saw the strange man standing in front of you.

　　“Are you stalking me?” I asked him curiously because I looked around clearly before leaning the room and he wasn't there.

　　“I am just someone that cares about you.” He said to me and walked closer to me. I have never received love from a stranger before so the feeling was completely new to me, he sounded like he was genuinely caring for me but it was just too hard for me to believe.

　　“I don't need anyone's care, I have my dad who's ready to die and kill for me, just stay away from me.” I said to him angrily and continued my walk.

　　“Its fine if you don't want me to care about you, but I'm sorry it's something my wolf wants to do.” I stopped on my tracks when I heard what he said. Does it mean he's really my second chance mate?

　　Memories from that day slowly flashed back and I remembered when I was almost unconscious a young man saved me from the hands of Lucious but I couldn't see his face clearly, while I was still remembering that night I finally recollected the part where I said yes.

　　I turned to look at him with my hand covering my mouth, it was shocking to me, I really said yes to some one I don't know.

　　“Is there anything wrong? Are you okay?” He asked me while walking closer to me, I was too embarrassed to let him know that I remember when I said yes to him.

　　“I'm fine,” I mistakenly raised my voice.

　　“It's fine, I understand you're startled.” it was just too good to be true, I tried to trust him but my guts couldn't because I don't understand why he was being too nice to me.

　　“Why are you doing this?” He raised his brows the moment I asked, he looked confused by my question but that was not my business.

　　“What do you mean? As your mate it's my duty to take good care of you.” His smile melted my heart so much that I wanted to forget my horrible past with guys and just trust him, but it was just somehow impossible.

　　“Can we quit this mate talk, it's just unbelievable, I wasn't in my right senses when I accepted.” I tried to defend myself, though I knew I looked stupid as I tried but I still decided to because the thought of accepting someone I barely knew made me feel stupid.

　　“If that's what you want, I respect it.” He replied to me with his hands raised up like he was trying to surrender.

　　We both had a short walk around the hospital quietly, for the first time it felt like someone apart from my dad was trying to protect me, I turned to look at him and smiled.

　　With him being my mate I really have nothing to be worried about. I lowered my head and let out a soft smile so he wouldn't notice.

　　When we were done taking a walk he watched me lay on my bed and waited till I slept before leaving. If this is a dream It's a dream I don't want to ever wake up from.

　　The next morning

　　I tried opening my eyes but the brightness of the sun made it impossible for me to open my eyes clearly, all of a sudden a shadow was blocking the light from disturbing my eyes. I opened my eyes and saw the same young man in front of me.

　　“It was not a dream after all.” I muttered to myself as we both made eye contact.
