Sami threw himself into work after he returned to Houston. Confiding in his trusted assistant Robert, he tried to find a solution for his financial problem. He didn’t explain why he needed the money and instructed Robert to liquidate some of his personal assets as quickly as possible.
Exhausted, Sami made sure to be home before the girls’ bedtime every night. He settled for checking on Petra over the phone. He hid the details of his Cleveland trip, not knowing how to explain the agreement he had reached with Lora’s parents. He told Petra he had found a way to keep them happy and offered no particulars.
