Chapter 2: Mysterious Book

1300 Words
Lucky's POV After what happened at the mall, I went home, but as soon as I walked in, I heard my Grandfather's shout. My grandfather's name was Allan Zivillicuz. “LUCIANNE CKYRINE!” Grandpa yelled my full name, making me cringe. What is the problem of that old man? And he even yelled my full name. Hmm, when he was angry, he just called me by my full name, and yes, my full name is Lucianne Ckyrine Zivillicuz, so the only reason I became Lucky is because Lu is derived from Lucianne and Cky is derived from Ckyrine, so Lucky was formed by combining the two. Oh! Right! My name is lovely, isn't it? “Lucianne Ckyrine! Come on, kid!” I covered my ears because of Grandpa's yell; where does he get the strength to scream so loudly? I simply shook my head and proceed to his office. “Yes, my handsome Grandfather?” I bowed cautiously as I entered Grandpa's office because the lampshade he threw almost hit me in the face. “Don't try to fool me, huh! Lucianne Ckyrine!” I just scratched my head because the way he said my name made me cringe. “Do you think I'm joking, Grandpa? It's true that you're indeed handsome.” He simply took a breath away. “Your Dean, my Granddaughter, just called and said I needed to come to his office tomorrow morning because you made another mess.” I winced. “I'm not the one who started that mess, Grandpa!” I defend myself with him, but it's true that I didn't start the mess. What's the big deal if I just helped? “Oh, please! That is always your justification, young lady!” I closed my eyes because his shouting was hurting my ears. “Your heart, Grandpa.” I told him. Yes, Grandpa has heart disease; I've been pleading with him for years to have heart surgery, but he refuses. He always said that he was old enough and he didn't need surgery because God could take him at any time. I can't handle it when I think that will happen; I only have my Grandfather because I haven't seen my parents since I was born. Only because of Grandpa am I still alive. When I ask him where my parents are, he always says there's a big reason they have to leave me and that I'll know when the time comes, which means they're still alive. “I'm not sure what I'm going to do with you kid, your Dean said he'll only give you one chance, and if you mess up again, you'll have no choice but to leave the University, which you probably don't want to do, right?” I thought about it. Hmm, if I move, I won't see Zaphael's hideous face every day? But I do remember that we were right next to each other's houses, as in our house are exactly opposite. “Well, Grandpa, that's a good idea to switch schools so that I can't see that ugly man even at school!” I sniffed because Grandpa shook his head in response to what I said. “Why don't you like Zaphael? That boy is so kind.” I rolled my eyes out of nowhere because of what grandpa said. “That's it! He's nice, so I don't like him.” I smirked at him and sat on the sofa in grandpa's office. “You're such a silly kid,” Grandpa said as he got up from his seat and walked over to the pillar. As Grandpa waved his hand, a door appeared in front of me. How did that happen? With a wave of the hand, there was already a door? Even though I was surprised, I ignored it because I assumed it was high-tech. “Come here, my Granddaughter.” I stood up and approached him, noticing a staircase going down. Grandpa walked down the stairs, so I followed him. Woah! That's fantastic! “What are we doing here, Grandpa?” I asked him when we'd reached the bottom. I looked around and noticed a small stage in the center with a book on it, and only that section of the room has light. Grandpa walked over to the small stage and took the book. I also went there and stared at the book, which is unlike any other book I've seen; it's quite thick, and it has some engravings on the cover. “I'm giving you that book, my granddaughter.” I'm curious why he gave me this book. “Grandpa, what kind of book is this, Why does it seem strange?” I asked, but Grandpa remained silent; however, he placed the book in my hand, and I frowned because it was too heavy. Is this really a book? What's the deal with it being so heavy? It looks as heavy as a large rock. “I want you to keep that book because it will answer all your questions.” Grandpa said, his voice sad. “Grandpa...” “I can prevent things from happening, but I don't because what is destined to happen will happen and no one can stop it. I'm honored to be your Grandfather; perhaps that's my life's purpose. To be your guide, but I have a feeling your fate is close.” I frowned a lot because Grandpa was saying strange things. Is he all right? Maybe my Grandfather is going insane again? Or maybe there's a camera around and grandpa is pranking on me? “Hey Grandpa, do you think you can fool me? Don't me. This is wise and where's the camera?” I couldn't stop laughing. Grandpa is very old, but he is still full of jokes. “What are you saying?” Grandpa's expression is solemn. He doesn't seem to be joking, does he? Woah! Grandpa can play an actor by pretending he doesn't know anything about the prank. “Grandpa, I already know your gimmick; are you playing a prank on me? It was so great when you made the line that ‘I can prevent things from happening, but I don't because what is destined to happen will happen and no one can stop it’ HAHA!” I repeated what he said earlier. “You're a wonderful Grandpa! But I'm better than you because you can't fool me.” I had to stop laughing because Grandpa was staring at me, his face is serious, and his nose smoldering with rage. Does what he said earlier seem true? “Do you think I'm playing with you?” I backed away because he was angry. “Isn't it?” I looked at him to make sure he wasn't joking, and he was right, he wasn't. Grandpa slapped his forehead with his palm. “LUCIANNE CKYRINE!” I bolted from Grandpa's underground fortress because he was furious. Oh no! After I ran, I realized I was in front of my room, so I went inside. As soon as I walked into the room, I sat down. I'm exhausted! I examined the book I was holding. “What do you have? Why do you look so important to my Grandfather?” I muttered to myself as I opened the book, surprised to find nothing written on it. The pages are all blank. There's nothing important here, but I'll keep it because Grandpa told me to. I still dislike reading books, and the page is blank, so I am unable to read anything. I stood up and slid the book into the cabinet. I went back to bed after putting it in to sleep for a while. I'm tired right now, so I'll sleep first, even if it's late in the afternoon.
