On the night Elena  Vale married Adrian  Blackwood, she believed she had finally escaped the life that had broken her.‎‎She was wrong.‎‎To Adrian , the marriage was nothing but a transaction forced upon him by their families. ‎‎He made it clear from their first night together that he would never love her—and elena endured his coldness because she had nowhere else to go. ‎‎Then Adrian's first love returned.‎‎And he chose her.‎‎One devastating decision destroyed Elena's trust and sent her walking away from the Blackwood family with nothing but a broken heart and a secret she refused to reveal.‎‎Three years later, Elena returns completely changed.‎‎She is no longer the quiet wife Adrian discarded.‎‎She's successful, independent, and standing beside another man—the one person Adrian never expected to become his greatest rival.‎‎That's when Adrian discovers the truth.‎‎The woman he rejected wasn't merely his wife.‎‎She was the person who had saved his life years ago.‎‎And the child he believed he'd lost forever may have been closer than he ever imagined.‎‎Now Adrian wants Elena back.‎‎But Elena has already learned how to live without him.‎‎And this time, he is the one who has to chase.‎

THE WEDDING
Chapter one Elena's pov ‎ ‎The first thing I noticed about my wedding day was that my groom looked like he wanted to run. ‎ ‎Not that anyone else seemed to notice. ‎ ‎The church was filled with hundreds of guests, all dressed in their finest clothes. ‎ ‎Cameras flashed from every direction, flowers covered the aisle, and soft music filled the air. ‎ ‎Everyone was smiling. ‎ ‎Everyone except him ‎ ‎Adrian Blackwood ‎ ‎I stood at the entrance, holding my bouquet tightly as I stared at him. ‎ ‎My future husband. ‎ ‎The man I had loved for three years. ‎ ‎The man I'm willing to die for ‎ ‎The man I can endure any pain for ‎ ‎well,my name is Elena,Elena vale precisely soon to be a black wood ‎ ‎i'm beautiful, quiet but strong willed. ‎ ‎Today was my wedding day,the happiest day in my life ‎ ‎The day I get together with the man I've loved since three year's ‎ ‎He stood at the altar in a perfectly tailored black tuxedo, his expression cold and distant. ‎ ‎He hadn't smiled once.not even for me ‎ ‎Not when I arrived. ‎ ‎Not when the music started. ‎ ‎Not even when his mother stood beside him and whispered something in his ear. ‎ ‎My stomach twisted.does he truly love's me as dad said ‎ ‎"Elena." I heard my mother's voice making me smile a little ‎ ‎My mother's hand touched my arm. ‎ ‎I looked at her. ‎ ‎"Are you ready?"she asked ‎ ‎I forced a smile.even if I wasn't ‎ ‎"Yes." ‎ ‎It was a lie. ‎ ‎I wasn't ready. ‎ ‎I wasn't ready to marry a man who looked at me like I was a sentence he had been forced to serve. ‎ ‎But I had already come this far. ‎ ‎There was no turning back. ‎ ‎The music changed. ‎ ‎Everyone turned toward me. ‎ ‎I took my first step. ‎ ‎Then another. ‎ ‎My heels clicked against the marble floor as I walked down the aisle. ‎ ‎I kept my eyes on Adrian. ‎ ‎Maybe if I looked at him long enough, I'd find something in his expression. ‎ ‎A little excitement. ‎ ‎A little affection. ‎ ‎Anything. ‎ ‎But there was nothing. ‎ ‎His face remained unreadable. ‎ ‎I lowered my eyes. ‎ ‎Maybe I had been foolish. ‎ ‎Maybe I had spent three years loving a man who had never once looked at me the way I looked at him. ‎ ‎Still, when I reached the altar, my father placed my hand into Adrian's. ‎ ‎His fingers closed around mine. ‎ ‎Cold. ‎ ‎I almost flinched. ‎ ‎"Congratulations, son," my father said. ‎ ‎Adrian gave him a polite nod. ‎ ‎Then my father turned to me. ‎ ‎"Take care of each other." ‎ ‎I smiled. ‎ ‎"I will." ‎ ‎My father stepped away. ‎ ‎I stood beside Adrian. ‎ ‎For a few seconds, neither of us spoke. ‎ ‎Then he leaned slightly toward me. ‎ ‎"Are you nervous?" ‎ ‎I looked at him in surprise. ‎ ‎It was the first personal thing he had said to me all morning. ‎ ‎"A little." ‎ ‎He nodded. ‎ ‎"Don't be." ‎ ‎I smiled faintly. ‎ ‎"Are you nervous?" ‎ ‎"No." ‎ ‎Of course he wasn't. ‎ ‎why would he be. ‎ ‎The priest began the ceremony. ‎ ‎I tried to focus on his words, but my mind kept wandering. ‎ ‎This was really happening. ‎ ‎I was becoming Elena Blackwood. ‎ ‎For years, I had imagined hearing those words. ‎ ‎Now that I was finally hearing them, they didn't feel the way I thought they would. ‎ ‎The priest turned toward Adrian. ‎ ‎"Do you, Adrian Blackwood, take Elena Vale to be your wife?" ‎ ‎The entire church went silent. ‎ ‎I looked at Adrian.my eye's piercing through his soul ‎ ‎For one terrifying second, he didn't answer. ‎ ‎My heart stopped.what if he say's no ‎ ‎Then he finally spoke. ‎ ‎"I do." ‎ ‎Applause filled the church. ‎ ‎I released a breath I hadn't realized I was holding. ‎ ‎The priest turned to me. ‎ ‎i was already smiling so much but I had to control myself. ‎ ‎"And do you, Elena Vale, take Adrian Blackwood to be your husband?" ‎ ‎I looked at him. ‎ ‎I thought about all the nights I had spent imagining this moment. ‎ ‎I thought about how impossible this marriage had once seemed. ‎ ‎Then I smiled. ‎ ‎"I do." ‎ ‎My voice shook. ‎ ‎The priest continued. ‎ ‎"Then I now pronounce you husband and wife." ‎ ‎My heart raced. ‎ ‎Husband and wife.it made me more nervous ‎ ‎Then came the words I had secretly been waiting for. ‎ ‎"You may now kiss the bride." ‎ ‎Adrian turned toward me. ‎ ‎He stepped closer. ‎ ‎I lifted my face exuberantly. ‎ ‎For one tiny moment, I believed he might actually kiss me. ‎ ‎Instead, his lips touched my forehead. ‎ ‎One brief kiss. ‎ ‎Then he stepped back.not even sparing me a glance ‎ ‎The guests applauded loudly. ‎ ‎I smiled for the cameras. ‎ ‎But inside, I felt strangely hollow. ‎ ‎I was drained of all color's on the inside ‎ ‎I had expected more from my husband. ‎ ‎That was my first kiss as his wife. ‎ ‎A kiss on my forehead. ‎ ‎Nothing more.nothing even a peck ‎ ‎Was this marriage even real or it was just an act ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎
