“Woah! Omegaverse really is amazing. I've never thought that I'll get so immersed in reading something like this! The concept of omega and alpha seems like something a hopeless romantic thing would come up with! Who could have thought of something amazing like this? What was going on with their mind when they published their thoughts about it? Oh, goodness! It wasn't even that long since omegaverse started its debut, but look how many readers it got hooked on!”
Coco babbled like a nerd. That's right, that was the first time she read something like that. She loves reading, but she has never thought of something like this! If it weren't for her big sister then she wouldn't have stumbled upon such a masterpiece concept!
‘I wish I could write something like this, but midterm is coming.. Ugh, my group's thesis needs some revision too.’ Coco grumbled in her thought as she dropped her phone on the bed. She doesn't like studying, but she needs her college degree to get into a good company. She has been doing her best to stay on top of her class to not waste her potential as the second daughter of her mother.
She and her sisters have been on the top of their respective grade levels. Her big sister, Corinne, graduated with summa cumlaude in her college days, now, she's graduating under the same university with the same honour. Her little sister, Carina, will be a freshman after her graduation. Just look how amazing they are!
‘We're not geniuses, but we're hard workers!’ Coco thought proudly with fire in her eyes then she let out a gasp when she remembered the requirement she needed to graduate. ‘Ack! My thesis! Crap, crap, crap! Gotta call the leader right now!’
She spent all nighter that night just to finish their thesis. Her leader and other group members stayed up with her, working together to revise their paper with utmost determination to make it through for their graduation.
The day of the research defense came around. Coco and her friends s***h thesis group mates did their best to defend their thesis. She might not be the best when it comes to presenting, but her friends got her back if she made a mistake! That's how deep their bond is!
“Human! Human! Don't die on me, human!” A high pitched voice cried out.
‘What..?’ Coco's mind was fuzzy. She remembered getting home and being congratulated by her sisters since her parents weren't home at the moment then she excused herself to get her well deserved rest. She doesn't know what's happening, but she could hear someone crying with desperation.
“Please, human! Stay awake..! Waahh! If only I've brought a healer fairy with me! Waahh! Don't die, human!” The high pitched voice continued to cry like there's no tomorrow and Coco could only think how dramatic they were crying as if she's dying.
On cue, Coco let out a cough. Her nostrils flared painfully, her throat itched adamantly and her airways constricting further inhalation of oxygen. She can taste something inside her mouth— one that is similar to a metal, but how would she taste something like that when she was just sleeping a few moments ago?
“No!! There's so much blood! W-What should I do, human?! I don't know what to do! I-I only wanted to befriend you..! I didn't know something like this would happen.. I should have listened to my mother and not gone to this dimension! I'm so sorry, human..! I'm sorry!” She opened her eyes and saw her bedroom's ceiling. She couldn't move because for some reason, her abdomen was throbbing painfully so she could only turn her head and look around her room to find the source of those desperate cries.
Her eyesight became blurry, her eyes were harder to keep open. She couldn't breathe properly either, she's gasping for air and could barely supply her lungs with the oxygen she needed. She's still not aware of what happened, but one thing is for sure.
‘I’m dying.’ She concluded without much fight. Someone was crying and apologising so she could more or less guess what happened. She just felt regretful because her sisters and parents will come to her room, only to see that she died in her sleep.
With that in mind, she closed her eyes and didn't bother fighting her fading consciousness. She wants to apologise to her family for dying after defending her thesis, but she knew that she wouldn't be able to.
‘Ah.. We didn't even manage to celebrate..’ The regret was hard to shake off, but at least she spent her life spending enough time with her family.
“Human!!” The sight of something small with transparent wings that drops golden dust— similar to pixie dust she saw on Tinkerbell movies— crying before she let the darkness consume her was the last thing she saw.
“Don't die!!”
