Amelia walked over to face Thomas and looked straight at him, “When you told me the cottage was haunted, what did you mean?” asked Amelia, trying hard not to sound too desperate.
“My wife Mary bought the cottage just after we got married, and was going to do it up and use it for a little getaway. She was so excited when she told me; I went with her to see the cottage and agreed it had a lot of potential. We got a builder to give us an estimate on how much it would cost. Mary was so looking forward to it. Not long afterward was when we found out Mary was pregnant with Richard. The builders cleared the path to enable a cart to get down to the cottage, so Mary would go down there as often as she could. She said it helped her to relax being in the woods.” Thomas just stared out of the window
