Landon's POV Throughout the entire ride home, she was silent. So silent that I sometimes didn't know whether she had fallen asleep or not. I knew we had some stuff to work through and get past, but her sudden silence filled me with an uneasy feeling that just wouldn't settle no matter how hard I tried to push it away. Whatever was in that file must have been worse than I initially thought. I hadn't put much thought into what it could be before other than maybe some minor misdemeanor, but now... Now I was certain that whatever it was, was more of a big thing, at least to her. Had she stolen something? Been in jail maybe? I had no idea, but when she found out I hadn't read it, her expression turned into shock, almost disbelief, but most of all, when she realized that I was telling the truth
