Arlene came over after lunch together with her baby girl, Everly. She was in high spirits as she bounced towards us. I smiled as she neared us then pulled her to an embrace as soon as she arrived. She was younger than me, only in her late teens and only reached my chin.
“Hey Arlene, how’re you feeling?”
She sniffed and rubbed her nose.
“I’m ok. Dad is busy with the plans with the rogues and Lycans. I heard that you guys may be looking for an Alpha for us?”
“Only if he is ok with it. I don’t think it is the best idea but if he wants to retire and you don’t want to take up the position, then the rogues should become a pack with an Alpha. You guys are already living like a pack, you know?”
Arlene’s eyes gleamed, “Yes, we are. I just hope that the old wolves will be ok with it.”
