I sighed. I had mixed feelings when Alex found out about my greatest, most intimate fear. But it’s inevitable, I guess. He’ll find out sooner or later. s*x was never pleasurable for me. Laxton had always been forceful and blood was always part of the equation. Although I know now that it was part of his deal with the Dark Witch, it does not quell my fear of it.
Fear may be irrational but it’s still real.
Alex didn’t say anything after that. He just let out a deep breath and slumped on me, hugging me while burying his head in my hair. Worry swelled in my heart.
