Chapter 1 The Library
He slammed his hand on the stupid alarm that kept ringing and looked at the ceiling of his room. Damn he was tired and his head was hurting like a b***h. *Sigh* he really shouldn't have drunk that much. But then again what else could he do? His life was so boring, that if he didn't do this much he might just die from boredom.
He really should get ready now, weekend was over and he needed to get going.
He got up and went to the bathroom to shower and get ready. When the bathroom door opened Liam walked out with only a towel wrapped around his waist and went to his closet to take out his clothes.
He decided on a black button up with blue ripped jeans and his converse. He was in no mood to dress up. What was the point of it anyways?! No one was going to notice him or compliment him. Life was such a bitch...
--------------
Finally!!! he was done. He can go home now or visit the library he saw a few days ago. Maybe there were some nice fantasy stories there.
He mulled about where he should go as he walked along the road. As he reached the bus stop, he decided he might as well just go to the library instead of spending another day at home doing nothing. Books were amazing anyways, especially the fantasy ones.
"Excuse me!! can you move you are blocking the path." Someone said.
"Oh Sorry!!" He said as moved aside. He should stop day dreaming. He then sat on the bus and looked out the window as it moved.
'If there was a life after this one, he would want to choose where he would be born and who he will be.'
He really should stop thinking like this or he might grow old earlier. The bus stopped and he got off after thanking the driver. As he walked towards the library still lamenting his life like an old man, he didn't notice how everything around blurred and silenced.
--------------------
"Weird!! Why is this place so empty? It looks a little creepy!" He mumbled as he walked inside. The library was filled with shelves made of wood with thousands of books in it. The walls were green and brown and gave the whole library a beautiful look. But there was dust everywhere and the lights were nearly all off. Giving a creepy look to the place.
"Maybe the worker is gone to eat or something. I can just look around a little." He thought and walked towards the bookshelf which had novels section on it almost excitedly. "Damn this place has so many novels."
"Hello!! Can I help you with something?" Someone asked behind him and he quickly turned around spooked. There was a girl behind him. She had blonde hair and green eyes. And she was beautiful unlike him who had brown hair and black eyes with an average face and looked so ordinary.
"Hello!!" She said snapping him out of his depressing thoughts. "Can you hear me??"
"I am sorry. Who are you??" Liam asked cursing his ADHD.
"My name is Ava and I work here." Ava said with a smile on her face.
"I was just here to read some books." He answered although it was quite obvious. I mean what else would someone do in a library.
"Okay. Call me if you need anything. I will be on the desk there." She said still smiling pointing to the desk behind her.
"Sure." He replied nervously. It was not his fault okay, it's just been a while since he has talked to a normal human being.
In his nervousness he missed the button Ava pressed on the wall and how the books in the shelf suddenly changed before everything turned to normal. And she walked to the desk, sat down on the chair and started reading a book.
Liam just shrugged and went to find some novel. He picked a novel it was a story about a mythical world where creature like dragons and werewolves lived. Not what you will expect from a 29 year old adult but hey his heart was still young and everyone likes what they like.
----------------
"What the hell??"
He mumbled as he read the last page again in case he missed something or maybe he was really turing in to an i***t. No he was right the book was finished and Yes the world was destroyed.
He sighed again. What was the Author thinking? Did he suddenly decide he hated the book and killed everyone? What about the Male Lead and others?
Maybe there was a second part and he should get up and look for it but he liked being dramatic and was certainly not going to get up to look for anything. Forget it maybe he should just go home. He was so hungry he could eat a shark.
As he once again day dreamed and started feeling sorry for himself, the system who had prepared an excellent speech watched him speechlessly. The library had long disappeared only the table and chair he was sitting on was left. The surroundings had changed into a big white room. How he had not noticed this happening was a bigger mystery than what had actually happened.
The violet-colored ball who was a system finally had enough and coughed.
Liam jumped and looked around finally noticing what had happened. Satisfied with the reaction Violet spoke in a mechanical voice;
"Welcome my dear host. I know you must be scared but fear not cause I am here to help you..."
Liam looked with his eyes full of amazement towards the weird glass ball, hovering in the air and ranting about god knows what.
"Wait are you a system?"
The glass ball, yes he was going to call it that for the time being, looked at him (atleast that's what he felt it didn't exactly have eyes) than patiently replied like talking to a baby.
"Yes and I am called Violet. "
