Chapter 4: His First Shift

1 Month Later

"Liam! Wake up. We need to leave."

He groaned and turned to the other side. He was sleepy.

"Liam. Don't tell me you forgot that today is your birthday." Ethan said as he tried to wake him up.

Liam jumped and ran to the bathroom. "I am up."

How could he forget what today was. Today was the day he was going to shift into his dragon form. And his sixth birthday, but that wasn't important. He looked at the clock. He Was Late.

"You should have waken me up sooner"

"It is alright you still have an hour to get ready. Lucien made breakfast. Come down and eat it." Ethan said before kissing his forehead (making him shy, Uncle's Husband or not he couldn't treat him like a baby) and walking out the door and saying. "Wake your grandfather up. I didn't because he was still tired after running after you tommorow."

"I will." He said like the obedient boy he was.

"Grandpa. You need to get ready or we will be late." He said sitting on his grandfather's torso. He was still a kid in here okay, he is allowed to act like one too.

His grandfather came back a month ago and they already have shifted to their clan. Their house was still the same because apparently you can press a magic button in the house and it turns into a Freaking Ring. Super Convenient And Amazing. His grandfather was just as handsome as his Uncle because you know genes. He had the same silver hair. The same blue which were looking at him sitting on him. Oops.

"Liam may I know why you are sitting on me?" He asked looking amused.

"I was here to wake you up. Ethan said you should get ready. We need to leave." He answered jumping slightly at the thought.

"I am up thank you. Now you go down and eat." He said chuckling before grabbing Liam and putting him down on the bed and getting up. Liam was once again in awe after seeing his grandfather's muscles. He was like a body builder. A man made of muscles but they didn't look weird they made him more handsome.

"I want as many muscles as yours when I grow up." He told his grandfather who just gave a boisterous laugh before saying;

"For that you need to eat M'boy."

"I am going to. Get ready quickly. We are not supposed to be late." He said smiling cheekily before running downstairs.

He saw Violet licking his wings, sitting on a cushion and picked him up. Violet just looked at him from the conner of his eyes before closing them. Liam didn't mind that he knew Violet liked him and was just too shy to admit it.

Violet who was shy "..."

As he ran down the stairs he was suddenly picked up making him drop Violet. Who glared at him and his attacker before leaving.

"How many times have I told you to not run on the stairs. Hmm." Lucien said dangerously. It was not his fault, he was a 29 years old adult okay he thought (conveniently forgetting who was jumping on his grandfather's chest).

"I am six years old today." He pouted while glaring at his Uncle.

"Exactly still a baby." That was what he got in answer as Lucien entered the kitchen and dropped him on the chair before placing his a plate of pancakes before him. Ethan entered the kitchen with his grandfather who was already dressed up, damn that man was fast, and sat down on his right. Lucien quickly pecked Ethan's cheek and sat down.

"So are you excited for your first shift." Ethan said as he cleaned his mouth with a tissue. Again not his fault his hands were just so chubby.

"I am. Just a little nervous too." He answered truthfully. Ethan smiled at him giving a piece of his pancake to Violet who was sitting on the table like that was where he belongs.

"I would be surprised if you weren't." Lucien said in between his talk with his grandfather.

"I am just scared what if I don't shift? What if something goes wrong?" He asked feeling a little scared now. Everything was so good that he was scared it was just the calm before the storm.

"Everything will be fine. And even if something goes wrong we will always love you and support you." Ethan said smiling and releasing a little of his omega pheromones calming him down.

Ethan was a male omega but due to something that happened when he was young he couldn't have kids. Everything was fine though cause his Uncle loved Ethan anyways and they both considered Liam their own son since they had taken care of him since he was born. He was curious to know what exactly happened but he didn't want to invade Ethan's privacy. He would tell him when he wanted to so, he didn't ask Violet.

He asked Violet about Zeke and he told him that he was only 1 year old not. So, no need to keep an eye on him besides it's not like they could meet each other since Liam was not allowed to leave the clan. Which was on a mountain top so no chance of meeting each other.

He had told his Uncle and Ethan that Violet was his pet so, he(Violet) could live with them. Ethan adored him and was always taking care of him much to Violet's displeasure. It was not that he disliked Ethan he just didn't like other people washing him. He was a dignified system. Liam didn't mind though. He fully enjoyed the babying Ethan did. It helped him forget his about his family cause no matter how much he pretended to be tough and that he didn't need them, they were still his family. He spent more than half of his life with them. Sometimes he wished they had accepted him.

Their words as they beat him up and kicked him out still haunted him and sometimes made him feel like maybe they were right and it was all his fault. As much as he liked to pretend he was okay, he knew that he was not and it may take him years to heal. It hurt him when they left him and that was what stopped him from starting relationships.

But he wanted to heal and be happy now cause he was so tired. He wanted someone he could love. Someone who could love him. He wanted to move on. He had a family now anyways, one that loved him. He had Violet. who loved him.

One might find it odd seeing him acting like a child despite not being one. But he wanted to have a happy childhood he could remember when older. He never had one before. So he didn't want to let every happy thing pass because he was too lost in his sadness to notice it.

He smiled as he looked towards His Family sitting around him. He wanted to live these happy moments fully while they last. He wasn't certain about the future but he would be happy as long as they were together.

He walked towards the big empty garden. He was holding hands with his Uncle. Ethan had gone to talk to his friends. There were only 15 minutes left. He was very nervous. But more excited than he had ever been. Violet was napping in the basket Ethan made for him. It was very convenient.

There were atleast 50 people gathered to watch the shift. There were three children who were supposed to have their first shift, he was the last. The others had already shifted. His grandfather's brother was the leader of the clan. He was there and was waiting for them in the center with his grandfather. The process of the first shift was a little complicated. The leader or any adult had to cover you in their magic so it would not hurt. If someone had their first shift alone it was very painful.

He took a deep breath as he reached the center. Lucien released his hand and smiled reassuringly at him together with Ethan, who had appeared out of nowhere. Ethan kissed his cheeks before smiling and pushing him lightly towards the leader. Violet also told him "you can do it" in his head.

He walked towards the leader, stood before him. He ruffled his hair before saying;

"Ready to shift?"

And as he nodded a blue mist suddenly covered him. And he felt an excruciating pain before it disappeared, must be due the magic. He suddenly felt his body expanding and a feeling he couldn't describe before everything stopped and he felt like he was floating.

As he opened his eyes, which he had closed at some point, the mist around him disappeared and he saw everyone looking at him in awe.

"You are gorgeous!" That was Ethan. He moved his head towards him and he smiled at him before patting his head. Lucien than pointed towards a mirror and he looked towards it. He nearly jumped when he saw a Dragon. He shifted and he was beautiful.

His body was like a serpent like the rest of his kind. He was covered in silvery white scales and he had a beautiful mint blue colored mane and there were a pair of small wings on his back mostly for decoration since he didn't need them fly. He could float as he wished because of him being a Cloud dragon. His eyes were the same as in his human form except that he had slits for pupils.

Suddenly the mist surrounded him again and he turned back. There was a cute boy with silver hair and heterochromatic eyes glaring at him.

"That's how long you can shift for currently since you are still young." His grandfather explained after seeing him pout.

"You are an Alpha although we already expected that." Lucien told him before picking him up. He was not surprised since Violet already told him.

"Congrats on your first shift Host." Suddenly Violet spoke in his mind and he smiled.

"Let's go eat." Ethan said and pushed Lucien towards the feast that had been prepared.
