The room was eerily silent as we stepped in to it, surprisingly the room was in ruins. A gaping hole in tiled roof, moss caked the rubble that laid dormant on the cracked floor, choked by vines and spluttered in dried blood. The room seemed old yet the paint smelled new. My lips begged to question, my heart ached to know. But I kept my mouth sealed shut in hopes of not incurring the wrath of the silent green haired man that had claimed to be scientist when he looks nothing like one and instead like a body builder fitted with steroids and explosive strength. Zin seemed amused by my staggering will that would increase and decrease my confidence at will making my decisions unpredictable. There was a table and exactly 6 chairs, the table was made of the Methuselah tree, the surface an echo of spiraling smooth but natural patterns the occasional twists creating seemingly woven flowers in the wooden table. Nicholas motioned for me to take a seat, the chair on the end as his target for my testing seat. It was old and extremely dusty, the armrest jutted with spiky and fancy beasts that had their mouths open and probably ready to bite me to pieces. And here I thought RIP stood for rest in peace, not piece. Pulling the chair back I sat down and tensed my shoulders until sharp spikes brushed my palm a lot more..... gently then I had expected. The beasts morphed from under my arms and back, turning in to lilies, daffodils, roses and twirling vines twisted with curling leaves and thorns. My skin lost the little tint of red that it had as my conscious was once again dragged away, I stood in a meadow, each and every flower a vibrant color in the misty winds. Trees guarded the meadow, their leaves just as beautiful as the petals on the ground. Hapësirë and Zin sat on the porch of a cozy stone and wooden cottage that stood closer to the forest entrance, sipping tea and reading, well Hapësirë was reading, Zin was staring off at space in silent boredom.
"Why is your mind scape soooo, boring?" He asks me,his red eyes now staring at me in a way that made me slightly uncomfortable. I shrug as i walked closer spinning around.
"I like it. It's quiet, peaceful and open." I say as I stepped on to the porch steps. The skies were clear, the sun hanging lazily in the air. "Or do you prefer for there to be a demon or two picketing through the woodlands in search of you,Zin?" I ask raising an eyebrow as i leaned against the walls.
"That would certainly be a little bit more entertaining. But I was thinking of something like a instrument and guide for how to play it and perhaps even access to a TV or gaming console."The god says. MY eyebrows shot up in shock.
"I thought you've been stuck in the pyramid for several centuries? How pry tell, have you come by this discovery,by searching my memories or listening to the talk active human race somehow?" I enquire my eyes narrowed now.
"He read through your memories the first time you both met, because he wanted to know if you were a waste of his time or if you were worth it. Which you are." Hapësirë interrupted. I hummed in response relenting.
"Alright, now that that is clear, lets get this over with. YOU, Alyssa Evergarden will receive our Legacy, that is basically fighting techniques and power manuals. And to answer the question that has been bugging you since you've heard of time and space, yes, yes you can teleport,BUT! It will be excruciatingly painful, a million times more than the fires of the poisonend river. Don't let that stop you though with each teleportation you experience it would become much more easier. Bye~`"ZIn waved as my body got knocked away by an unseen force and warped my conscious back in to my body. Data and scriptures of fighting techniques and more than just a little bit of information on my new found abilities rushed in to my mind, giving it a splitting migraine. Groaning I lifted my hand and held my head.
"Am i supposed to feel like a ten pound truck had just rolled over my head and reversed to make sure that its nothing but paste?"I ask. Richard sighed and Nicholas sat at the other side of the circular table.
"Yes. Congratulations, you won't be burned until you resemble Hitler"s corpse."The green haired guardian states,I gave a blank stare of displeasure.
"Couldn't you find a better way to kill someone, you know a little less messily? "I ask with furrowed brows and a scathing smile.
"Nah,it's much more interesting and satisfying when you hear the popping of skin and crackling of blood."Nicholas says nonchalantly.
"Huh,well,at least I know now never to get on your bad side. As the crackling of blood as you so deftly mentioned just sounds disgustingly gruel, not....that I have a problem with boiling someone, just keep me as far away from that as you can otherwise the contents of whatever happens to be in my digestive system will be on the ground."I shuddered as I spoke. But contrary to my expectations Nicholas laughed.
"Okay. Now to more suited introductions, I'm the guardian of the void,or rather Aether, also the leader of the guardians, you are the co-leader and Richard will be your bodyguard,Cleopatra's minions are what we call Sand Doons, very pesky and irking creatures. They appear human but had long ago lost their humanity to Cleopatra the instance they pledged loyalty towards her."Nicholas explained.
"Alright. But why is Cleopatra evil? From what I know After the Roman armies of Octavian (the future emperor Augustus) defeated their combined forces, Antony,Cleopatra's husband, and Cleopatra herself committed suicide, and Egypt fell under Roman domination. Cleopatra actively influenced Roman politics at a crucial period, and she came to represent, as did no other woman of antiquity, the prototype of the romantic femme fatale. I can see why she'd want to take Rome perhaps but the entire human race ad sub-races? Not to mention the universe it just doesn't make sense- unless there's another part to this story that hadn't been written down in history,or perhaps covered up, by historians? No,I doubt they would do that, unless someone had wiped every thing from every archive."I scratcged my neck trying to find a passage in history that might help shine some light on my obvious dilemma.
"Amazing, you truly are a history teacher and investigator. I'll tell you the real story once everyone has come back. Their currently going through their own tests."Nicholas says giving a nod of approval.
