Madison’s POV
I know it seems like I am running away from my problems, but I need a break. Everyone is packing and get ready to leave and go to our destination wedding in Hawaii. I hope Jayden does not regret his decision to marry me. I didn’t sleep well last night thinking about how Aiden had the nerve to come find me to declare his love for me. Maybe I am stupid or naïve but I believed Aiden when he said he only married Sarah because she was pregnant. He really was a man that believed in taking care of his responsibilities, at least he use to be. She knew that about him so I believe she used it to her advantage. Everyone knows that Aiden is a gullible man, and he is easily manipulated. I am brought back to reality by a knock on my door, before I can say come in the door opens. I look curiously at the person walking in and it is Jayden. I smile at him not wanting him to get suspicious of me. “So this is your last chance to change your mind. Once I get on that plane Jayden there is no turning back. We will be locked in for life.” I say. He starts to laugh at me. Then he comes over and grabs my waist to pull me closer, only to capture my lips in a deep passionate kiss.
“Does that answer your question beautiful. I wouldn’t trade anything for this moment I have to be in your arms for the rest of our lives. Stop second guessing us, I plan to make up for all the sad things you have ever experienced. Can you promise me that you will allow me to pamper you for an eternity.” Jayden says. I just stare in his eyes looking for some form of deception but all I see is undying love for me. I don’t trust my voice to come out right so I just nod my head. “Now stop stalling and let’s get this show on the road because I can not wait to call you Mrs. Adams and most importantly I can’t wait to get you in my bed to make love to you. I have craved you since you turned into such a beautiful woman and let us not forget how fine you are.” He says. I just look at him and roll my eyes. I push him out of the way so that we can leave. As I am walking away I hear him laughing to the top of his lungs. He is truly a jerk. I bumped into Caleb on my way out of the door.
“Good morning Caleb! How are you doing?” I say. I look at his face and see concern etched on his face so I cannot help but ask if everything is ok. “Caleb is there something on your mind?” I ask. He hesitates for a moment and then he takes my hand and pull me into the near by room. I was taken aback for a moment but I decided to give him a chance to explain himself. “Listen Madison you know I have always loved you as a sister and I want nothing more than for you and my brother to be happy. You both deserve happiness but I just want to make sure you guys are getting married for the right reasons. Jayden has had time to get over his broken marriage but your situation is still too new and complicated. I didn’t feel like this at first because the two of you were always meant to be, but last night when Aiden came to see you I saw a lot of emotions in you for this asshole. So I just wanted to make sure you were ok with the arrangement.” Caleb says.
I smile because I can hear and see the concern for his brother and me. “Caleb I understand why it appeared that way to you and probably the rest of the family last night because it sure as hell wasn’t my proudest moment. I have bottled up my feelings about what happened to me over the past couple of weeks. So every time I am made to face the trauma that happen to me I come unglued. Yes I loved Aiden in the past but what he put me through was life changing. I don’t respond like that to him and his family out of love for them but hate. What husband ex or not abducts their sick wife just to keep their image. I cannot wrap my mind around him not caring if I died. So, the thought of him saying he loves me enraged me beyond repair. I know now keeping my feelings bottle up is not good because you end up with last nights result. I talked to Jayden in debt about what I went through as well as all the abuse. He understands what I have been going through now. I think it’s why he is pushing for this trip so fast. I need it Caleb, but I do appreciate your concern and love for the both of us.” I say. He smiles and embraces me in a tight hug. I hit him to let me go. We laugh walking out of the room and run into Jayden. He looks at us with one eyebrow arch. I brush his nosy ass of and pull him down the stairs with Caleb following.
We headed to the private airfield to take a flight to Hawaii. I am so excited to be marrying Jayden. Our moms have planned the whole thing and we just need to show up. They will finalize all the plans once we arrived there. On the plane ride everybody seems to be preoccupied talking business or wedding plans, so I tuned everything out and closed my eyes to get some sleep. I do not know how long I was asleep, but I felt somebody shaking me tell me we are getting ready to land. I must have been extremely tired because I slept the whole way there. There are cars waiting for us to take us to our destination.
I look around at how beautiful Hawaii is and am in amazement. You would think that all the money we have this would not have been my first time here but it was. I love beautiful places like this and now I get to live out my dream of being married here. I am so excited about my new life. Jayden sees me and smiles. We are escorted into the resort and they take my bags up to the honeymoon suite. I realize that me and Jayden are sharing this room. In three days, I will be married to the most wonderful man in the world.
The next couple of days have been quiet which is what I needed, then I open my email and see there is a letter from the lawyer that Aiden uses all the time. I open it and begin to read the content. I froze after reading the letter he cannot be f*****g serious.
Dear Ms. Anderson
I regret to inform you this letter serves as notification of the intent to file a lawsuit against you for spousal compensation. On the grounds of deception of your monetary value throughout your marriage to Aiden Greene. We would like to resolve this matter as quickly as possible. Please have your attorney contact my office at his earliest convenience.
I scream to the top of my lungs, wishing this family would leave me alone. I do not owe them s**t. Jayden burst through the door at that time. “Baby what’s wrong?” He says.
