Madison’s POV
I really could kill Jayden setting me up to talk to the group of maniacs. I swallowed hard look at all the angry faces then I throw caution to the wind and just spoke my mind. “ I was telling Jayden that I thought it was a little strange for Chloe to leave him alone all this time and then show up now knowing Christian can bankrupt her family. The only way I think she would be brave enough to go against our family like that is if she had another benefactor. She knew exactly where Jayden was time and place. Only family knew that everyone came down here, we were just getting ready to discuss what I thought when y’all came back.” I say.
“I agree sis but who the hell could her benefactor be that would have her do something so foolish as testing my patience, when her father had to beg me to let them go before.” Christian said. I think about it for a moment I really don’t want to add fuel to the fire but I got a name in my mind but don’t know if I should say it or not. I get brave and decide to speak my mind completely. “Every since y’all got in town to help me there has been one problem after another and there has been multiple attempts on me and Jayden life. Here in New York no one knows about Jayden relationship with Chloe, but there is one person that told Jayden he couldn’t make his marriage work and that was that old bastard Maverick. I think he or his daughter search out Chloe to get Jayden away from me and they must have promised her a bigger pay day. I wouldn’t be surprised if Maverick didn’t pay for her to come here. She was to confident tonight when she sashayed her ass up to us, because even though nobody else knew before tonight who I was Chloe know exactly who I am. If you think about it the only reason none of Maverick plans have worked is because I am always with Jayden and he is we’ll guarded. You get rid of him and he thought I would be left out in the cold.” I say.
I look at all the faces and I see that everyone is thinking about what I said to them. I wait for some one to speak. Surprisingly my sister is the first one to speak, which is never any good because all her ideas are so far out there until I am scared what she might say. “So I know that we made the announcement that Jayden and Madison were engage, is that for real or just for the public appearance?” Sydney says. I wait for Jayden to answer because I am scared too. “ It is real as far as I am concerned. I would go to the justice of the peace today if she would marry me to make it official.” Jayden says. I am shocked that he said that but then my sister look toward me to see if I agree and I nod my head yes. So she clears her throat and continue like what she is about to say will shock the s**t out of the old people in the room.
“ So if this is for real and not just for show then why not take Jayden up on his offer and get them married like right now. We can give the drama time to calm down while we fly off to some destination wedding for the two of them and when they come back to New York they will come back as husband and wife and it will be hard to drive a wedge between them at that time. Unless the two of you want some fairy tale dream wedding, because let’s be real you both have done that before.” Sydney says. There she goes I knew the bitchy sarcastic side of her would show up. I just glare at my sister. She does have a point though.
“What is a destination wedding my mom ask and we all just roll our eyes because my mom is so old school it is just pointless to try to change her now. “Mom a destination wedding is one that you pick a place that you think is your idea place to have a wedding and all your family member get on a plane and travel there and they usual spend a couple of days there to prepare and then they do the wedding. I am ok with it if Jayden is as long as nobody suggested Vegas.” I say. Mom nods her head in understanding. My mom knows me the best because she suggested that we travel to Hawaii for the wedding and I am excited she said that it was a beautiful place to have a wedding. I cannot believe my mom remembered that I always said that was a nice place to get married, I look to the person sitting on the side of me to see his response. He look up in my eyes and smile. I know I am as red as a tomatoes.
“I would be happy to take my beautiful fiancé to Hawaii with our family and get married.” Jayden says. “That will at least give things time to quiet down here before you return. After leaving Hawaii we need to go back to LA for a moment to regroup and then the kids can come back to New York. I think I have had enough of this place. Even though I heard a lot of good ideas tonight with some companies, I realize New York has a lot of messy people they love drama to much. I cannot stand this place any longer than I need to be here.” Dad says. I can tell that my family is fed up with New York to be honest I am too but I need to stay here to get my retribution for the things they have done to me. Nobody knows that I am having nightmares. I am waking up in the middle of the night drenched in sweat where I keep replaying that day in my mind over and over again. I don’t think that I have gotten a full night sleep since everything happened. I am not looking forward to try to sleep tonight. I put on a brave face today facing that family but today I was a little shaken especially with Aiden trying to talk to me about us. He don’t get to make this right that easily. Especially after the lost of our child and the fact that he didn’t show any feelings towards the situation. I feel like he don’t care. I don’t feel like he has gotten anything to do with the things his in laws are doing but he has his own stuff to account for and that cannot be fixed with just a few words.
I wander if I should have a conversation with Jayden to let him know what is going on because I want to be fair to him he deserves better than some broken woman. I am sitting here lost in thought when I feel eyes on me. I look up to see the most amazing blue eyes staring back at me. I try to smile to assure him I am fine but it doesn’t look like he is buying it. He stands up and grabs my hand to take me to another place to talk. We don’t even get to make a few steps before the housekeeper comes in to let us know that we have guest.
