Chapter 38 – The Start of Madison’s Revenge

Madison’s POV

When the three of us turned around we see dad and uncle Henry walking through the door. We look confused because everyone was supposed to be back in LA. We know who made the decision to turn this into a lunch meeting. “Dad why on this earth did you turn this into a lunch meeting; we do not want these assholes to feel like they are welcome. I want this to feel as uncomfortable as possible.” I say. “I understand your feelings baby girl, but we want them comfortable when they walk in the door, so they can relax a little. I know they will never let their guards down completely, but we want them relaxed enough to think it may go there way. We just walked past them in the waiting room and trust me it was a full house. They are all present in both families. I am curious to see how this meeting is going to go. Today is about business and we all need to keep a business mindset, because I already know they are going to be about that foolishness.” Dad says.

I am going to try to stay business focus, but it is going to be hard dealing with people like them. When the door opens again, I expect Lucy to be escorting our guest in, but it is Jayden. I silently laugh to my self because so much for them letting me handle this myself. Jayden comes in and sits to the head of the table. Christian on his right side so I take his left side with Caleb next to me. Then the door opens, and I know it is showtime. They walk in and takes seat around the table. The caterers come in and start to serve lunch. “Whoever is supposed to be presenting to us today feel free to start at any moment.” Jayden says.

Aiden starts his presentation, and I must admit it is a good proposal. If I didn’t hate him, I would be interested because it will make a lot of money, but I hate his ass. I am getting ready to say something that I know is going to upset my dad, but I don’t care. “I must admit you have a good business proposal that could make a lot of money for both companies. Under normal circumstances I would suggest we jump at the chance to work with your company, but I feel with all that has happened between our families we would be fools to invest in your company when you are an untrustworthy person.” I say. I can hear Caleb snicker beside me, but I don’t care I look up waiting for my husband to speak but he has this stoic expression on his face. I am waiting for someone to speak from my family but they don’t, but wouldn’t you know it the one that speaks is Sarah.

“So are you basing your decision on your personal feelings because you are angry you couldn’t keep your husband satisfied.” Sarah says. That makes me giggle, and I slowly get up out my chair to go over and slap the hell out of the b***h, but I stop at the voice that speaks. “Madison don’t move remember to keep your eye on the prize.” Jayden says. “Yes listen to your boyfriend he at least has enough common sense to know not to mix business with pleasure.” Sarah says. I raised one eyebrow at Jayden as good as to ask him what the f**k, but he just smiles at me making me totally confused.

“Mrs. Jones don’t misunderstand me stopping my girlfriend as you call her from getting up is no sign that I agree with anything that you have said. I stopped her for your benefit. Unlike you Madison has spent a lifetime training and preparing for the world our family lives in as well as all the women in our families. She was meek and mild around the Greene family for years because she just wanted to fit into their world which is unbelievable to us because all of you are well beneath her status in society. Nevertheless, she tried her best, but it went unappreciated. Going back to the matter at hand the one thing you learn in the world of business is that a person could have the best business mind but can be a snake. They can be untrustworthy which makes them to not be good businesspeople. If I invest millions into a company or project, I want to know that it will be a safe investment and considering the character that all of you have shown, I can clearly understand my wife’s hesitation to work with you.” Jayden said. All you can see is wide eyes and disappointment in the people around the table.

My brother laughs and says “I guess your little spy has not told you yet that she was unsuccessful in stopping the wedding. Once she was captured by my men she was dragged off to a place where she was held until Maverick's nephew set her free. The thing about striking a deal with unstable people is they are unpredictable. Chloe had one goal in mind when you helped her and that was to get close to Jayden. I guess she forgot to disclosed that she was forbidden from getting anywhere near my family ever again or I would make sure that her mother and father did not have money and homeless. A task that I am taking care of right now. As the head of my family, I choose to do things in a different way just like my father did. Even though violence is unavoidable in our line of work, I try not to use deadly force when possible, but I can and have. The one thing that could make me kill is a threat to my family and that is the very thing that you people have done. Now I do feel like the Greene family has nothing to do with all that has happened, but their hands are not clean especially when it comes to the abuse and lost my sister suffered. So, for that reason alone I don’t trust them either. As for the Jones family you have made several attempts on my sister and brother-n-laws life. These types of things are not something that could be overlooked.” Christian said. You can see the angry looks around the table. Maverick and his daughter appear to be the worst. “Now I enjoyed Aiden’s proposal I kinda wish he would have attended this meeting alone and maybe we could have worked something out despite our personal feelings, but you brought the devil into the lion's den so because of that I must say I have to agree with the rest.” Caleb said. I smirked because they have no idea how my family works. “I feel it fitting to end this meeting with one more fatal blow. Maverick along time ago I went on a job with my father. That job was to kill your brother because of him stealing from our family. We knew along time ago the type of person you were, but we went along with you and gave you control of the Jones family, and you have destroyed your family good name. I think it is time for it to get back to it’s original glory and to do that we need a new head of the family.” I say then turn around and signal Caleb to bring in our guess. I want everyone to meet the new head of the Jones family.
