Chapter 4

The very next day, Damian woke up from the sound of the alarm. As he turned it off, he could feel the medallion glow around his neck. Suddenly, he saw the blue bird beside the bed.

"Seems a bit odd to wake up early morning, boy." The blue bird said,

"You have no idea." Damian replied. "And quit calling me "boy," my name is Damian."

The door suddenly opened, and his aunt came in the room.

"Damian? Is someone else in the room?"

The moment he got dressed, he went out, and rode on his bike to school.

Everything feels normal around him for the first 5 minutes...until....

"I'm getting BOOORED." The blue bird wailed.

"Shush! Pipe down will you?" Damian whispered.

"Uh, I am piped down."

Then he noticed his classmates looking at him, confused.

"Mr. Molina." the teacher said as Damian turned to her, "Is there a problem?"

"Uh, no ma'am. Sorry." Damian replied.

An hour later, it was break time. Damian sat alone on a bench just outside the building in the football field.

"*sigh* Well that was embarrassing," he said.

"My apologies, boy." The blue bird replied, "but it seems as if they can not see nor hear me."

"I thought you agreed to not call me "boy"?"

"My apologies, Damian-boy."

"Jeez. And I still don't know your name." Damian sighed.

He then got up and headed straight to the canteen. As he was trying to find a place to sit down, he saw Maria pass by but suddenly slipped and her books flew in the air.

Seconds before she fell to the floor, without having to think, Damian swooped in and caught Maria in his arms. As for the books, he caught them with his other hand just before he got the chance to look at what he was doing.

Damian blinked. "What happened just now?" he thought to himself.

He lifted Maria back to her feet and handed the books to her. He noticed all the other students were watching.

"Thank you." Maria said, "Nice reflexes."

"Uh, t-thanks." Damian replied,

"YO, Ria!" a voice boomed

Damian turned and saw Tristan walking towards them.

"This guy botherin you?" he asked

"No, Tristan. I'm fine." Maria said,

Tristan didn't notice her. He then sized Damian up whose eyes are a bit intimidating.

"Thanks for saving my girlfriend," he said as he wrapped his arm around Maria's shoulder.

Maria choked, "I'm not your---" but Tristan covered her mouth.

"Go on now. Skedaddle." he said

"And what if I refuse?" Damian asked

Tristan raised an eyebrow. He glanced around him. "I wouldn't make a scene if you know what's good for you," he said,

Damian was about to refuse but he felt as if he is surrounded. He looked at Maria, who was worried and walked away.

Maria broke free from Tristan's grip and took three steps back. "What was that for?!"

"What are you talking about, babe?" Tristan asked,

"Don't you "babe" me." Maria said, "Haven't you learned anything at all? WE. ARE. THROUGH."

"But I missed you," Tristan said as he took a step closer.

Just as he grabbed her arm, she flicked it away and slapped his face. SMACK!! She immediately ran off afterward.

Tristan, still feeling the slap on his face, ran after her but she was gone. He then continued to roam around to find her.

Meanwhile, Maria walked around the school campus and saw Damian in the library. She walked towards him and sat down opposite him.

"You alright?" she asked

Damian nodded. "Mmmhmm."

"You sure?" she asked

"Yeah." Damian replied, "I'm sorry if I didn't try to help you."

"It's fine." Maria said, "Tristan can be a bit impulsive."

"But it looked like you two are a couple."

"Were a couple."

"Oh."

"I better get going." Maria said as she stood up, "You sure you're alright?"

Damian gave her a thumbs up. Then she walked out of the library.

As Damian let out a huge sigh, he suddenly felt a jolt running across his body and his heartbeat hard.

"Damian, I sensed the presence of another being." The blue bird whispered

"I think I sensed it too," Damian whispered,

"Let's find out."

"Uh..."

Before he had time to react, his medallion suddenly pulled him out of the library.

Meanwhile, Tristan was walking around the hallway still trying to find Maria.

"C'mon, Maria. Where are you?" he muttered to himself

As he continued his desperate search, he stumbled upon a puddle. When he looked at his reflection in the puddle, he noticed Maria in the reflection. He quickly turned but to his dismay, he didn't see her. He looked back at the puddle. All he saw was his reflection.

His reflection suddenly smiled on its own.

Tristan flinched and fell backwards. He breathed heavily. He then slowly crawled over to the puddle but to his surprise, didn't see his reflection.

Suddenly, two hands emerged from the puddle, grabbed him and dragged him into the puddle and he disappeared. At that time, a janitor walked by but didn't see anyone else. Seeing the puddle, he mopped it and whistled on out of there.

On the other hand, Tristan woke up and found himself underwater. He then realized that he was breathing normally.

"Where am I?" he wondered,

He felt a glow behind his back. When he turned, he saw a giant greyish octopus standing before him.

"Who are you?" Tristan asked

"I am Oksterosus." the beast replied,

"What do you want with me?"

"I sensed a strong desire of finding your love"

"And why do you care?" Tristan asked,

"I can grant you that wish." the beast replied gleefully, "You shall be king and she shall be your queen."

Tristan thought about it for a while, but before he could reply the beast whispered "I think it has something to do with that boy you tormented."

"Damian." Tristan muttered,

"If you don't want anyone else to take away your queen, then merge with me and claim what is rightfully yours!" the beast said, as it stretched out one of its tentacles

"Deal." Tristan said as he shook the beast's tentacle and a bright light shined around them.

Meanwhile, Damian roamed around the hallways as he tried to find the source of the energy he felt earlier.

"Where could it be?" he thought to himself, "More importantly, why here in campus?"

"I wish I could tell you everything, but I have no clue either. " the blue bird said

"Figures."

As he kept on walking, he looked down noticed that the floor is wet.

"Did someone leave the faucet on?" he wondered

On the other hand, the students noticed the wet floor during their class. Seconds later, the water began to rise. The students stood on their tables and chairs as they tried to stay dry.

However, one of the students fell and accidentally opened the door and water flowed out of the classroom. The students hurriedly went out of the classroom. They met up with other students who rushed out of their own class due to the rising water.

Some of the students panicked while some tried to calm them down.

"Well, at least things can't get much worse than this." Eric muttered

Suddenly, they heard a splash of water nearby. The sound is getting louder until a wave of water came crashing down on all of them and tried to drown them but they managed to swim out of the building.

On the other hand, Maria roamed around the school trying to find a way out, but everytime she found an exit, a wall of water prevented her to do so. Suddenly, something grabbed her by surprise and she disappeared into the water.

Meanwhile, Damian continued to follow where the strange aura came from. He trailed to a halt near the school gym

"This must be it." he muttered as he reached for the handle, but he quickly held back, "This is insane. Why do I have to be the one to deal with this?"

He took a deep breath and opened the door just a little bit and saw a water-shaped hand appear before the throne. It then released Maria and put her down gently.

"Maria?!" Damian said in his head, "Why is she here?"

She was surprised by the sight of a throne in front of her. She shuddered as the sight of a strange-looking figure emerged from the throne.

It had the shape of a man, wore a gold chestplate, gauntlet on the top along with golden cuisses on his lower leg. His face is pure white as silk and had a golden tricorn hat resting on top of his head while his hair is made out of tentacles.

Then the strange being stared at her revealing bright seafoam green eyes and slid down from his throne and trailed to a halt in front of her. .

As Maria tried her best to stay calm, she took a few steps back and immediately ran towards the door but a wall of water appeared and blocked her path. Then the wall transformed into a hand, grabbed her and dragged her in front of the pirate looking man.

"My sweet Maria..." The man whispered as he run his fingers through Maria's hair but she flicked her head off.

"Who are you?" Maria asked, " What do you want with me?"

The man took a step back. "My apologies for being rude, my queen" he replied, "I am Ocsterio. The Tsunami King."

"Hold up. Did you just call me your 'Queen'?" she asked

"I did." Ocsterio replied with a smile, "You shall be my queen and rule this world together."

"And what if i refuse?"

Suddenly a glowing pearl emerged from the water. She saw all of the students and teachers outside trapped inside a large wall of water filled with sharks roaming inside the water!

"You don't have much of a choice, Maria." Ocsterio said, "Accept my offer and maybe I'll let them go."

Damian, who was still outside, saw it all. He tried to suppress his anger as he couldn't believe what he saw. "Why I outta." he muttered.

"Calm down, boy. Don't be rash-" The blue bird whispered

But it was too late. Damian barged through the door but suddenly slipped and fell to the floor. THUD!!

Ocsterio saw the commotion. Maria tried to turn around but she got stuck.

"We'll talk more later." He told her. Suddenly, water covered around her and dragged her away. He then turned his gaze on Damian who slowly stood up.

The Tsunami King made a hand gesture and all of a sudden Damian found himself surrounded by seaweed-looking creatures!

"Deal with him." The king ordered. Then he submerged into the waters.

The seaweed creatures wrapped Damian up with their vines and dragged him out of the room.

"Let me go! " he cried out but they didn't listen.

As they walked down the hall, Damian continued to struggle to break free. He then looked around him and saw something glistening inside one of the creatures.

He slowly managed to slip his right hand out, grabbed it and slid it in his pocket before they could notice. He then examined it. It is a golden shard. Without a moment to waste, he slowly cut through the vines that binded him.

Before they headed to the door, Damian tugged one of the vines pulling one of the creatures towards him and pushed it to another one causing them to drop to the floor and with his last ounce of strength, he broke free from the vines and ran away as fast as he could. The creatures were furious and went after him.

Damian ran as fast as he could. He then looked over his shoulder and saw them catching up to him. He then turned left but found himself in front of a wall at the end of the hall.

He could hear the creatures hissing in the distance. He then dug into his pocket but to his surprise, the shard isn't there! He carefully looked around him and found a long metal rod. He then picked it up and held on to it.

He heard footsteps growing in the distance and saw the creatures whose eyes are fixed on to him and ran towards him.

Damian then swung his rod and hit one of the creatures but another pounced on to him and he fell to the floor. He tried to keep the creature away from him but it just kept wanting to bite his face! Suddenly, a blue light shot out of the medallion and destroyed them all.

Damian panted as he watched it all happen. The light then shaped itself into the blue bird.

"We have to help them." Damian said as he stood up,

"You are in no condition to fight." the blue bird told him. "One might be tough but a whole army will kill you."

"I'll take my chances"

The blue bird sighed, "Very well but we must work together."

"Then what are we waiting for?" Damian asked

Then the blue bird transformed into a ray of light and went inside the medallion. The medallion then shined brightly covering Damian in an orb of light!
