Blood Moon Revelations
Zephyr Pov
“Mother Luna must be punishing me for something I did in a past life to stick me with a despicable human like you!” I spat angrily at my human half. If you could even call him that.
“SHUT UP MUTT! You are just as bad as I am. I made sure of it. Your precious mother, the oh-so-wonderful Goddess Selene, doesn’t love you like you think she does. I will find her on my own and when I do, she will regret ever even thinking about escaping me.”
I snort in response but say nothing. This only incites more anger. I know he will find her, but I also know that by then it will be too late. I can’t believe he didn’t recognize the signs or the change in her demeanor, but I guess when you are a self-serving prick you don’t pay much attention to anything other than yourself.
“I know you are being silent for a reason… You might as well tell me now mutt, or you will regret it later.”
After five minutes of silence, he forces that otherworldly concoction down his throat. He does this to make me sleep, thinking it makes me suffer, but I welcome it with open arms. A reprieve from the chaos that has become my life. How terrifying, I think sarcastically.
As the effects of the drink took hold, a warm and cozy sensation enveloped me. A feeling I have come to cherish. I anticipate what comes next, not with fear but with intrigue. Curious as to what The Mother will reveal to me this time.
Valor Pov
Some hours after his wolf went silent, he is able to be alone with his thoughts without the constant criticisms from his other half.
Stupid wolf. He thinks he’s so much smarter than me. I’ll teach him.
“How can you not find her? She should’ve been too weak to escape in the first place. You have been searching for her for months and you still can’t locate the stupid girl.” I growled at my tracker.
One of my men began to talk just as I caught a glimpse of the blood moon rising in the sky. That was odd, there hadn't been a blood moon in a millennium. Many of us suspected that it was a myth. Well, we were wrong. The other’s voices began to fade as a strange feeling began to make its way through my body. It was like an electric shock, vibrating through my feet, traveling up through my chest, and fizzling out at my fingertips. I look at my hands, astounded.
A familial link is emerging between me and…. My eyes widened and realization of what was happening.
“Find that treacherous woman now!” I boomed out before I began to hear my wolf snorting in laughter.
Aria POV
Three months. Three months and two weeks to be exact, I’ve been in hiding. Running from the evil that I know is coming. I stumbled across a sorceress named Beatrice who has devoted her time to helping me. She is raising two young children, so she understands my desperation to protect the life growing inside me. I will never be able to repay her for the kindness she has shown me.
I have been feeling strange since daybreak. Beatrice says that I’m close to having the baby. I hope all goes well. I haven’t had the best care given the circumstances.
Just as I was pondering the well-being of my baby, a dull red glow started to show over the horizon. I am speechless as I watch the moon rise higher and higher, bathed in a blanket of deep red. I had never seen anything like it. A blood moon. Why now? Before I can open my mouth to ask Beatrice about the moon, I start to feel the pain of contractions and a gush of warm liquid starts streaming down my legs.
“Aaahhhhh” I scream.
“Oh god, you're having this baby during a blood moon!” Beatrice proclaims.
I couldn’t even acknowledge her. All I could do was scream while I held my stomach.
Suddenly she jumped up and into action, helping me inside and to my room. She called her oldest daughter in to assist her in the birth of my baby.
Before long, I found myself holding the most beautiful baby girl I have ever seen in my entire existence.
Prior to the birth, I didn’t know the gender of my child, so I didn’t have a name ready for her. I held her to my chest and watched intently as she latched onto me and began to nurse. Soon after, I heard the softest little snores coming from my precious baby. Beatrice gently picked up my baby and before I could protest, exhaustion overtook me, and I was swept into unconsciousness.
When I opened my eyes, I found myself in a forest so vibrant and lively. I noticed the sound of rushing water caused by a majestic waterfall. It was so beautiful I was almost brought to tears.
“Hello, my darling.”
I turn to see Mother Luna standing before me and I am left speechless.
She giggles and says to me “Follow me, we have much to discuss.”
I just nodded my head and followed behind her, still unable to utter a word.
“I’ll be quick dear, since you seem to be at a loss for words.” She says with a sad smile.
“I cannot express how sorry I am for the way your life has unfolded. And unfortunately, it doesn’t get better. The family link has already been established and the child’s father is doing whatever it takes to find you both. You must hide her from him.”
She paused before continuing... “You have to give her up now. He will find you, and if he gets her then the future of the werewolf world will crumble. The sorceress can help with this, she knows more than she has let on. I’m sorry for everything that has happened to you and the sacrifices you’ve been chosen to make. But your daughter is special.”
All I could do was cry, still not able to form words. Mother Luna looked past me before informing me that it was time for me to go back.
“You have enough time to hide her in a pack where she will be safe until the time comes when she has to depart from it. But you must hurry and conceal her presence. Be safe my dear, I’ll give your Lycan what she needs to guide you.”
With that, she kissed my forehead as I heard the words, “See you soon.”
When I opened my eyes again, Beatrice was standing at the foot of my bed.
“We need to act quickly.”
I nodded as tears began to fall from my eyes.
“For this to work I will need to know her name.” She says to me.
“Her name is…...”
